Made in Bangladesh.........

dear, Wen Jia Boa came here and said they switched to capitalism in 1980, thanks to Smith and Friedman, not that they switched to new seed.

Did you see how stupid you are being now?

the 2 most famous book to get you up to speed: [oh, and they are not about seeds]

"Capitalism With Chinese Characteristics"

"How China Became Capitalist"

I find it highly amusing how you need to utilize condescending terms like "dear" as a cover for your insecurity over the strength of your argument.

China didn't transform into a capitalist country overnight. It didn't engage in practices of shock therapy as the Soviet Union attempted.

dear, did I say it switched overnight????????????? I merely said that after the saintly Republicans introduced capitalism to China world poverty was cut by 40% in the greatest economic miracle of human history!!

See why we say liberals are slow, so very very slow??

too stupid!! Wrong that China eliminated 40% of world poverty with capitalism rather than seeds as you idiotically think!!

Here are two most respected books on it and they don't mention seeds! Sorry!

just because you didn't know about the new seed varieties doesn't mean that they didn't have a dramatic impact. By the early 1990's About 75% of all of Asia's rice farming was through the utilization of new seeds. It was really a global phenomenon, it had a HUGE impact in Latin and South America as well. It was called the Green Revolution and Norman Borlaug was awarded a Nobel Prize for it. The revolution saved hundreds of millions of people from potentially starving to death and greatly increased possible crop yields per hectare of land. I know you're comfortable with Wikipedia as a source since you use it so often so here ya go:

Indeed it is, right along with the constant references to others' IQ as a clear indicator of insecurity about his own.

When did he say this? Recall you were previously caught lying in these forums about what Wen Jin Bao said, so I'd be curious if you could back this up.

for fourth time:
what projection dear?? The fact is Republicans eliminated 40% of the worlds poverty by introducing capitalism to China in 1980.

Do you dispute this???? Yes or No???
The projection that China economy will pass the US within 10 years. Your brought it up.

The point is that whether it is true or not, it doesn't validate your previous claim that capitalism in China eliminated the Great Famine. That makes no sense since the two events were decades apart. You can't defend that nonsensical claim, so you are doing your best to redirect to an argument that I've not made. I'm not talking about whether poverty was eliminated in the 1980s and have made no comment on that, I'm talking about the Great Famine and whether capitalism ended it.

So for the fifth time: how was the Great Famine which went form 1958-1961 eliminated by capitalism that started trickling in in the 1980s?

1) I'll pay you $10,000 if I mentioned Great Famine

2) Wiki:Great Chinese Famine, resulting in the deaths of somewhere between the government estimate of 14 million to scholarly estimates of 20 to 43 million.[10] Although private plots of land were re-instated in 1962 due to this failure, communes remained the dominant rural unit of economic organization until 1982–1985 when they were replaced by townships

So now even you can see that capitalism was used in 1962 to end the famine and used from 1980 to the present to end 40% of world poverty!!

The remaining question is why don't we make liberalism illegal since it is so utterly stupid and deadly!

Are you proud that your ego is making you Nazi-like oblivious to the truth??

Okay cool, apparently you are also too stupid to realize that the millions of Chinese starving you love to bring up is called The Great Chinese Famine.

Awww how cute Speical Ed was able to wiki up the famine he keeps saying was ended by capitalism. Clue = Restoration of private plots of land to some is not establishment of capitalism in China.

too stupid of course, no country has pure "capitalism" but they are moving in one direction or another. Certainly when they found that liberalism killed 40 million or so and switched to private plots to stop it that was a movement toward capitalism, not toward socialism!!

The simple things are always over your head; thats why you are liberal. Sorry! IF you're not smart enough to post here why not just read and learn or just ask questions??

Only the forum half-wit would believe China was capitalist in 1962, but hey here is Ed Biamonte presenting? So slow! Too stupid! Dear!

I don't think so, I think you read things without comprehending them then look stupid trying to regurgitate them here. You are the forum halfwit and a well-documented compulsive liar, that must suck.

dear, Wen Jia Boa came here and said they switched to capitalism in 1980, thanks to Smith and Friedman, not that they switched to new seed.
So in light of your latest claim that China embraced capitalism in 1962 thus ending starvation, we're still waiting on you showing where Wen Jinbao said Smith and Friedman were the reason.

He might have (I don't know) but given you are an admitted compulsive liar and have been caught falsely attributing quotes to Wen Jinbao before it is reasonable to ask you to provide source don't you think?

dear, whats infinitely more important is for you to recognize that when Republicans switched China to capitalism in 1980 they eliminated 40% of the poverty on earth.

Do liberals support capitalism or the deadly liberalism that killed perhaps 100 million through long slow starvation.

Can you say what it is about liberalism that caused the greatest genocide in human history??

Whether it is true or not I've not commented on, what you need to recognize is that it doesn't support your logic that the Great Chinese Famine of 1958-1961 was ended by capitalism that started taking hold in China in the mid 1980s.

Do liberals support capitalism or the deadly liberalism that killed perhaps 100 million through long slow starvation.
I don't know what liberals support, I'm interested in what people actually say on these forums not some propped up caricature political label.

Can you say what it is about liberalism that caused the greatest genocide in human history??
Don't care, if you find someone on these forums who calls themself liberal and supports forced collective farming I think it would interesting to discuss it with them, otherwise you again attacking labels not arguments anyone I see making.

dear, when folks voted for Nazis they did not know what they were voting for!! Our liberals spied for Stalin and elected Obama who voted to the left of Bernie Sanders. If not for Republicans we'd be Stalinist right now!

Norman Thomas quotes:
The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.

This was precisely the tactic of “infiltration” advocated by Lenin and Stalin.[3] As Communist International General Secretary Georgi Dimitroff told the Seventh World Congress of the Comintern in 1935:
"Comrades, you remember the ancient tale of the capture of Troy. Troy was inaccessible to the armies attacking her, thanks to her impregnable walls. And the attacking army, after suffering many sacrifices, was unable to achieve victory until, with the aid of the famous Trojan horse, it managed to penetrate to the very heart of the enemy’s camp."[4]

You must be on crack or something. I just stated that I like thin rough towels. Keep your Egyptian cotton towels. I have great towels for my guests and don't really need you to tell me what to buy. Not so long ago everyone was grousing that everything at Wally World was made in China. Looks like that has changed.

Wanna see who grows your Egyptian cotton?

Children keep Egypt's cotton spinning | Marketplace from American Public Media

No all cotton is grown in Egyptian. I have a friend who is a cotton farmer, they grows pima cotton.

But i understand what you are saying.... cheap price equals cheap quality.

Syrenn!! You must still be asleep today! I live in the south - the land of cotton. Not much is grown in KY, maybe a little down along the TN border, but once you get into TN on south it is cotton for as far as the eye can see. And "a bale" of cotton is as big as a small building.

While I tend to like cheap quality towels, most do not and are gong to be way more peeved at items from Bangladesh than they were with items from China.

China is home to a large number of engineers. Not looking it up, but they number disproportionately to the population. Still, everything I buy from China has some design flaw in it that makes the product just maddening and makes me wonder if it is deliberate. Now that I have seen my first product from Bangladesh, which suits me fine but probably not everyone else, I am really eager to see what kind of design flaws their merchandise is going to have. Somehow, I have a feeling we are all going to long for the good ole days of 'Made in China!' LOL

Maybe you will like to know how chinese make cheap 'food'.

Wow. A post by our resident libertarian troll, Ed. Based on two quotes.
The first, attributed to norman thomas, is an apparently made up quote, often used by far right politicians, and libertarians. No known link between the quote and Thomas has ever been documented. Snopes investigated and found the claim that thomas had ever made the statement to be probably untrue. Because there is no way to prove anyone had ever NOT said something.
But it is a staple of the bat shit crazy con web sites that ed the tool frequents. I wonder where ed got the quote???
The second is a quote by C.S. Lewis, as far to the right as it is possible to get:
"I believe the authority of parent over child, husband over wife, learned over simple to have been as much a part of the original plan as the authority of man over beast. "
Quote by C.S. Lewis: I believe in political equality. But there are ...
Lewis was a christian theorist. And again, you would find ed's quote in a number of far right wing bat shit crazy web sites where ed tends to hang out.
Typical ed. funny that he rarely shows a link to his quotes.

if you don't like the Norman Thomas quote why not consider the introduction to Milton Friedman's book "Capitalism and Freedom" where he lists the American Socialist Partys political platform of the 1930 in order to demonstrate that they had gotton everything they had dreamed of thanks to creeping liberalism or creeping socialism.

See why we say liberals are slow?

Did anyone notice another meaningless post?? Who was that troll?

Sorry, don't mean to burst your bubble.

See why we say liberals are slow? What other explanation is possible.
Your conceptual IQ is so low that you were unable to consider that what Thomas said mirrors everything that conservatives and libertarians have been saying since Jefferson created the Republican Party in 1793.
