Idealizing a 1st century galilean semite into a handsome white European "leading man" type I guess is as harmless a bit of cultural fantasy as talking snakes or virgin birth. As long as one doesn't obsess on it as Megyn Kelly did - insisting that " kids, Jesus and Santa just were white"

I posted this forensic reconstruction of a Galilean area Semite several weeks ago. It's a rigorous scientific work based on 3 skulls from the area and appropriate time. Keep in mind also that the typical male from that era and location averaged about 5'1" and weighed 110 pounds.

The short curly hair and beard were also typical of place and time.
