Liberal Hypocrisy:

Denise Rich, the wealthy socialite and former wife of pardoned billionaire trader Marc Rich, has given up her U.S. citizenship - and, with it, much of her U.S. tax bill.

Rich, 68, a Grammy-nominated songwriter and glossy figure in Democratic and European royalty circles, renounced her American passport in November, according to her lawyer.

By dumping her U.S. passport, Rich will save tens of millions of dollars or more in U.S. taxes over the long haul, tax lawyers say.

Yup.

One hopes you feel the same sense of betrayal when your favorite corporate giant does the same.

Hasn't Somalia suffered enough? YOu want to inflict Poodle on them as well?

You want to bring Somalia here. That's what liberal policy / communism does. It lowers the standard of living for everybody (except the ruling class) to poverty. But that's what miserable people like you want. If everyone else is brought down, you think you'll feel better about yourself and your inferiority complex.

"Liberal" policies had nothing to do with what happened in Somalia.

And it seems to be the type of thing you guys want.

Everyone has a gun.
No cops.
No firemen.
A very weak and small government.
No regulations.

That's heaven for you folks.

When did I say I wanted a "weak" government, no law enforcement, or no fireman?

First if all, as I've (unfortunately) had to explain to you liberals who don't even understand how your own government works, police and fire are not FEDERAL employees - and thus are not even in the discussion. Everything we discuss on this site (unless otherwise specified) is FEDERAL government.

Second, all I've ever wanted (and most conservatives I know) is CONSTITUTIONAL government. Not "weak".

Everything you described are the idiot Ron Paul libertarians. Please do not lump me in with those Sovereign Citizen asshole nut cases....

I can't wait to hear this one....

Right here, on display..is your ignorance.

Police and Fire departments, are in part, funded by the Federal Government.

Second, nothing in the Constitution provides for federal, state, or city police and fire departments.

Third, everything you advocate for, with the exception of cutting defense, is in line with the Grover Norquist agenda.

Police and fire are NOT federal employees. Therefore, any funding by the federal government is inappropriate and unconstitutional - hence the outrage by conservatives.

Because you don't understand your own government, you're under the impression that if they throw money at something, it must be ok. They throw money at the green energy sector, and that is also inappropriate and unconstitutional.

It really is sad that you live in the greatest country in the world and are helping to destroy it simply because you couldn't take 30 minutes out of your life to read the U.S. Constitution and then understand your own government.

Wow - you're so clever. Such whit.

Hey, I know - why don't you address my post about how you exploit people in Brooklyn for your own greed. Do you have any idea how many families there are out there with children that are homeless, hungry, and completely destitute. You have the means to provide them with a roof over their head, and all you do is exploit another family that is better off than them.

Greedy....evil....hypocritical....CAPITALIST.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

You are in a world that is so unfamilar to you..that you might as well be on mars.

I'm well acquainted with the US constitution.

It has lots of big words and lofty ideas that you don't have to depth to even begin to understand.

I'm renting the co-op out..and living in the rental.

My girlfriend wanted more space.

In any case..yeah..I am a capitalist. I work for the financial industry..and use to have my own business..which went kaput.

Greed necessarily isn't a bad thing either..it motivates people to do things they otherwise wouldn't do.

Government sanctioned greed on the other hand..is a bad thing.

Oh..and the word you are looking for is "wit" not "whit".

"Betrayal"? Not at all sure what you're getting at here.

First of all, I don't blame anyone for leaving the U.S., working the system, or sending money to off-shore accounts due to the devastating liberal oppresive socialist tax system we now operate under.

Second, I do BLAME and find complete disgust with liberal idiots like Mrs. Denise Rich here who have helped to create this liberal oppresive nightmare which has collapsed our economy, and who then renounce her citizenship and hide in other countries to protect the very wealth she cries is "evil". People like her created this nightmare, they should be FORCED to give up their wealth and endure it. Maybe once they see what their ideology does, they will reasses their sick ideology.

In other words, I'm 100% accurate and you have no idea what you're talking about - hence avoiding facts and posting nothing but personal attacks?

Police and fire are NOT federal employees. The federal government has no authority to fund anything at the local level (just because they do it, doesn't mean it's ok - I know, that's a concept that confuses you - but perhaps your "girlfriend" can explain it to you?).

The federal government was delegated 18 enumerated powers and that is all they are authorized to fund. Period. End of story. But since you have no idea what is in the U.S. Constitution, you're completely unaware of this fact.

But hey - just keep making up your own version of what the federal government can and can't do... :lmao:

Amazing.

You again show you have not one clue about what you are talking about.

The Constituion gives the Federal Government some extremely broad and expansive powers. It was never meant to be a "period". If it were it would have been impossible to expand as a nation. And it seems that you, yourself, are unaware of that fact.

The "Limits" on Federal Power are in how it deals with indivdual citizens. These are called "rights". Or as Obama referred to it..the Negative Liberties of the Federal Government. Which is why the Constitution is so revered. It guarantees that the government, at least on paper, cannot be "unjust" to it's citizens.

These are things you don't ever bring up in any of your multiple threads..demonstrating for everyone paying attention, that you really have never read the Constitution..or if you have, you don't understand it.

Guy, why do I get the feeling that you think "communism" is defined as "everything I disagree with and anything I don't really understand", which covers quite a lot of the globe, actually.

Somalia's problems are not because of "Communism". They are because they got exactly what you gun nutters always said you wanted, a well armed citizenry and a weak central government.

Yeah, Poodle is his own very special kind of nutcase...

The Constituion gives the Federal Government some extremely broad and expansive powers. It was never meant to be a "period".

:lmao:

Straight from the mouth of someone who created and signed the U.S. Constitution:

For why declare that things shall not be done [as in a bill of rights] which there is no power to do? Why for instance, should it be said, that the liberty of the press shall not be restrained, when no power is given by which restrictions may be imposed? (Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 84.)

Now, I know you have zero reading comprehension, but what Alexander Hamilton is saying here is that if it is not expressly written as a power/responsibility if the federal government in the Constitution, then the federal government has no authority/power over it. None. Zero. Period.

The fact that you make up shit as you go and falsely claim the "Constituion gives the Federal Government some extremely broad and expansive powers" clearly illustrates your extreme ignorance on this issue. You've obviously never read the Constituiton, and as usual, you have no idea what you're talking about. You are really embarassing yourself now.

The Constituion gives the Federal Government some extremely broad and expansive powers. It was never meant to be a "period". If it were it would have been impossible to expand as a nation.

If this doesn't sum up the government-welfare, parasite class liberal like sallow here, I don't know what does.

In their minds, everything is "impossible" unless government does it for them. With their propensity for rewriting history, you can't bet your ass that 40 years from now, they will falsely claim that creating the iPad would have been "impossible" had it not been for government :lmao:

Hey stupid, this nation expanded for 130+ years with a federal government properly restrained by the Constitution. And we didn't have $16 trillion in debt, an oppressive authoritarian regime, or welfare queens like you dragging down society.

For a group that demonizes wealth, success, and the "1%" it sure is ironic how dumbocrats are rolling in unimaginable wealth. Nancy Pelosi has used her position in Congressional committees to work the stock market into tens of millions of dollars with her insider information. Barack Obama jets off to Martha's Vineyard and Hawaii every other week. And than there is John Kerry. The man who is swimming in billions - and who, despite screaming about how bad his state desperately needed taxes - hid his $7 million yach in Rhode Island to avoid paying taxes on it to his own state of Massachussetts.

The online dating site OkCupid led the charge against Eich, posting a letter on its homepage that painted Eich as anti-gay and encouraged Mozilla Firefox users to switch to a different browser. When Eich resigned last Thursday, OkCupid cheered the ousting:

“We are pleased that OkCupid’s boycott has brought tremendous awareness to the critical matter of equal rights for all individuals and partnerships,” the company wrote in a statement.

In a bizarre twist, it now appears as though OkCupid may have been a little quick to judge. According to Uncrunched, OkCupid’s co-founder and CEO Sam Yagan made a $500 donation to Congressman Chris Cannon (R-UT) in 2004. Cannon, who openly opposed same-sex marriage, voted against a ban on sexual-orientation based job discrimination, and voted for prohibition of gay adoptions, reportedly earned a 0% rating from the pro-abortion group NARAL Pro Choice America.
