Rolla is in shock as word of the death of Army PFC Richard Lewis McNulty III spreads through the community.

[PFC McNulty] was on patrol in Afghanistan Saturday when an improvised explosive device exploded, killing the soldier. There is no information about the condition of the other soldiers with McNulty.
A Rolla High School graduate and soccer star, Richard McNulty was married in February 2010. He was deployed in December and due to come home in three weeks. His wife, Hannah, is due to give birth to their first child a daughter, Ella at the end of June.
