In a March 1st editorial, the typically lamebrain Tampa Bay Times has shown why conservatives refer to liberalism as a mental disorder. Rarely have I ever seen such irresonsible, reckless yellow journalism.

The Times calls the Florida legislature's idea envisioning 10 armed teachers in every school, "risky". But does the Times the Times validate this, by showing us a single instance of trouble coming from an armed teacher ? Nope, not one. And I've never heard of any.

The Times says the legislature's idea "would make schools more dangerous." Actually it would safen them, from the dangerous state they are now (108 US school shootings , 2013-2018), and make them LESS dangerous.

The gunphobic Times goes on to say arming the teachers would "transform campuses into armed encampments awaiting the next attack". Oh, how dramatic! Actually, it would transform campuses into schools being prepared for the next attack.

The Times ludicrously editorializes that Republican legislators ignore parents of Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School students. But there were only a relative few parents who traveled to Tallahassee, to meet with legislators, and there are about 6000 parents of the school's kids. Also, some of those who made the trip to Tallahassee support the legislature's plan to arm teachers.

The warped Times further states "No amount of training will prepare teachers to grab their gun and respond to a mass shooting..." Really ? And exactly what does the Timid Times editorial base this bold pronouncement on ? Answer: Absolutely nothing.

I've never heard of a single case of an armed teacher causing a problem, but there are thousands of cases of problems being fixed/ceased by a good guy with a gun. Here's a few examples >>

1. July 4, 2002 LAX shooting.

2. Moore, Oklahoma beheading attack.

3. Garland, Texas terrorist attack.

More foolishness from the Times. It claims students would eye their teachers with "suspicion". Suspicion of what ? Being capable and ready to protect them ? That's a good thing.

Now you didn't think that a left-wing rag like the Times would neglect to throw in the race card, did you ? They didn't. They claim minority students are disciplined disproportionately (nonsense), and would be particularly affected. Actually, they would be affected the same as anyone, by being more protected.

Lastly, the Times hysteria draws upon non-shooter situations (ex. - fights), and "warns" us that a teacher might "be tempted to reach for his or her gun." Seems like if reaching for a gun were necessary in these instances, that would be a good thing, and would help stop internal violence, helping to keep students safe. An added benefit, and more reason for teachers to be armed.

The negative thinking of the Times is symptomatic of irrational fears. If early Americans had been this negative, we never would have become an independent country, never would have developed a Constitution, never would have abolished slavery, and never would have won 2 world wars.

The real problem for the Times is it is a idea that might work. In order to get gun control the left must stop all workable solutions.
