Let's do away with all high school and college sports programs.

School sports are a cancer in American education. I wonder how they get along without school sports in...I don't know...Germany? Japan? Sweden? It is a puzzle. Their academic performance doesn't seem to be harmed by it.
What difference does it make if school sports break even or even make a profit? If schools sponsored bakeries and made money on cookies, would anyone suggest that bakeries were an essential part of "education"? Of course not. The top several earners on most college campuses are COACHES. How sane is that? The BB and FB coaches at Michigan State make MULTIPLES of what the Governor makes. Maybe Michigan isn't a good example.
Sports are fine, and enjoyable, and many kids benefit from participation in sports. That is why the rest of the fucking world supports CLUB SPORTS, which have the added benefit of developing athletes better, in addition to not providing a gigantic distraction to students who are theoretically there to learn something.
Consider how baseball plays out in our beloved country. There are school baseball programs that run in parallel with Little League, Pony League, Babe Ruth League, American Legion ball, and so on. The "bottom line" is that school baseball is superfluous, constrained by a school calendar that forces play during awful weather in the Spring, and by the time baseball weather has arrived in most of the country, school baseball season is over.
Look at hockey. Most schools don't have hockey teams - they are very expensive - so the kids who want to play hockey play on "club" teams, and it works out fine. Nobody misses school hockey because it never really took hold.
I have no illusions about this. There will be school sports in the U.S. forever. But they are stupid and should be abolished.

Students aren’t compelled to take a team sport. It’s elective.
Many kids with no aptitude or no interest opt not to play a sport.

Based on the devastating effects of wokeness and trans-athleticism on our society, female sports have been trashed to degree that makes them irrelevant. Wouldn't it make sense just to do away with sports progams altogether? Look at the money that could be saved. It is obvious, considering the currnet presidential administration, that nothing is going to be done to remedy this issue. You can't have just male sports so all sports should go. At least until the country comes to its senses. Which is probably never.

Let me ask you a question: do you believe there are some kids who pin their hopes on an athletic scholarship and therefore are not studying as hard as they should to get an academic scholarship? How many kids don't get the athletic scholarship and have nothing to fall back on? I think that option ought to be off the table, and if you want to be successful then do it the same way a 98 lb weakling has to do it.

The whole country isn't wherever the hell YOU live, Poindexter. Hockey is VERY popular at most high schools around many parts of the country.

Sports in countries like that are exactly what you and the other Poindexters DON"T want. Young people who show an aptitude for a given sport in such countries are directed into athletic institutions and their academics are largely ignored. Is that what you want?

There are many female wrestlers who compete on mixed gender teams. Fortunately, more and more schools (and colleges) are developing all girls teams to compete against each other. American women wrestlers do very well in the Olympics.

That would be one solution, yes. The alternative solution is to do away with gender-oriented sports instead. No more women's tennis. No more men's tennis. No more mixed doubles tennis. JUST TENNIS, basketball, football, golf, etc. It won't take long before feminists get the message that they cannot compete and bring back women's sports without trans-gender sickos.
The even better solution is to make sports based on sex and not gender.
