Leaker from Pentagon identified

All generalizations are false.

Except the one I made.
That's a woke response if I ever heard one.

His MOS is "Cyber Transport Systems Specialist".

That means IT Admin. Same job as Snowden, just not a contractor...

Like I said, I can understand him having access to Secret and TS material based on his job, even if it was at the lower ranks. I've known a few E-4's and below who had Secret and TS clearances because of their job.

My problem is with his status as a reservist.

If he's an active duty reservist (2-3 year enlistment), or someone who was called up for a 6 to 12 month deployment, I understand why he may have had access to classified information.

If he was a "weekend warrior" (reservist who does 1 weekend a month, and 2 weeks out of every year), then I have a serious problem with him being allowed access to Secret and TS material. Like I said, I've been on ships with reservists who came onboard for their 2 weeks active duty requirement, and we never gave them anything technical or serious to do because they were only onboard for 2 weeks.

ABC reported he enlisted in 2019, and was mobilized with his unit to full time Federal active duty (Title 10) in October 2021.

I agree with a caveat. Where was the NCOIC during all this?
See: The 21 Year Old Leaker — Something Is Not Right
A lowly E3 is not going to have unfettered access to a SCIF and will always have at least one senior commander (NCO or Officer) present to tell him what to do and to monitor his work.
Something is askew with the media story being presented to the World about the boy who posted the leak on the gamer chat board. The documents are not randomly selected. If the intent was to post classified information in order to impress a bunch of teenage gamers then why is the bulk of the material only about the war in Ukraine?
[~~]
One of the major revelations from this leaking incident is that most of the press in the United States have rejected the fundamental mission of the media — expose truths the Government wants to hide from the public. What a volte face!! Fifty years ago the New York Times and the Washington Post led the way in defying the Nixon Adminstration’s effort to quash the publication of the highly classified Pentagon Papers. Those documents revealed that the U.S. Government, under both Republican and Democrat Presidents, lied to the American public about the war in Vietnam. And today? Those two media outlets enthusiastically helping the U.S. Government identify the leaker and smear him in the process. So much for the viability of the First Amendment.
Meanwhile, there's also another question to be asked. Why is his age in question when in the past we have had people like Ellsberg. Hanssen, Pollard and Walker? All were well above 21 yrs of age and did tremendous amounts of damage.
BTW, this is a UCMJ-Article 32 violation not under DoJ jurisdiction.

Lt. Col. Vindman Admitted Leaking Documents Meant To Help Dems Impeach Trump—Never Served Time, While 21-Yr-Old Jack Teixeira Was Arrested For The Same Crime

15 Apr 2023 ~~ By Patty McMurray

100 Percent Fed Up reports – Alleged Pentagon document leaker Jack Teixeira was arrested Thursday and, according to Attorney General Merrick Garland, is now being investigated for the “alleged unauthorized removal, retention, and transmission of classified national defense information.”

Social Media users have responded to the conflict by calling for the arrest of Alex Vindman.

In 2019, Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman admitted while being questioned by the House Intelligence Committee Tuesday that he had leaked information to an anti-Trump whistleblower at the center of the Democrats’ partisan impeachment proceedings of President Donald Trump. Vindman attempted to provide talking points to Trump prior to his “infamous” Ukraine phone call and then leaked a mischaracterization of the call afterward. Vindman was directly confronted by California Rep. Devin Nunes. Nunes asked:
“Lieutenant Colonel Vindman, did you discuss the July 25 phone call with anyone outside the White House on July 25 or the 26, and if so, with whom?”
“Yes. I did,” Vindman responded.
Vindman was pressed about the details and asked who he spoke with regarding the phone call. Vindman said he talked with two individuals who were not in the White House. Vindman was asked to provide the names of the people he had spoken with but was cut off by then-Democratic Chair Adam Schiff.

Commentary:
Why doesn't this kid get all the "whistle blower protections" for exposing the fact that Joe Biden LIED about entering the United States into armed conflict?
Vindman belongs to the right "club". He is a member of the protected class, as long as he is a compliant toady.
What puts American lives at risk is a corrupt administration that:

1. Laundering American tax dollars in Ukraine, a corrupt country.
2. Building and maintained illegal chemical weapons laboratories in Ukraine.
3. Wasting $120B on a war America has no need to be involved in.
4. Is well aware that Ukraine's leader, Zelensky, has been skimming money from American aid.
5. Is deeply involved in attempting to instigate WWIII.
6. Lies to us daily about events in Ukraine.
7. Has been kicking laundered money back to the Bai dun Crime Family for at least a decade.
8. Is attempting to instigate a war with Russia.
9. Sabotaged Russia's natural gas pipelines to Europe.
10. Along with France, Britain and others, now has American troops on the ground in Ukraine.
The question is, what are Loyal American citizens going to do about it? Power hungry Maoist Democrats stole voting from us. Next will be censorship of online privacy so you won’t be able to question their motives any longer. What’s will be the straw that breaks the camels back? When will American citizens stand up and shout NO MORE!, and take back the Republic by force if necessary.

LOL. Vindman never claimed HE leaked anything. Some "advisers," likely Trump toadies, said that Vindman was leaking WH info, but zero evidence has been brought forth and no one has stepped up to be a witness, so that was pretty much the end of that. Facts never matter to you people. The cult conjures up fairytales 24/7 because yall are children who won't accept reality. The real world is just too harsh for your fragile minds. That's why literally everything has to be turned into a conspiracy theory in order to make you feel "safe."

I commend him for not being honest about his mistake. But he also instigated the name-calling with me. So he deserves having it served right back at him, in my opinion.

The member in question is famous for his name-calling. Usually derogatory and laced with homophobic slurs. What he lacks in cognitive ability he tries (and fails) at personal insults designed to inflict what he believes are insults that are suppose to the person on the receiving end belittled and left feeling inadequate.

It very seldom if ever works.

He would have to have under gone an F.B.I. background investigation. From personal experience they can be very invasive. Mine began before I left Viet Nam and ended only I finished training as a Communications Center Specialist.

I believe the complaint said he received his security clearance in 2021.

And the senseless vicious circle continues. How does it feel to be on his level ?

Teenagers should never have security clearance. Their hormone levels are insane rendering most of them irresponsible and reckless. After about age 21 these hormone levels are cut in half. Obviously his weren't there yet. Life is not a game. Security has to be taken seriously. Now this child will pay the consequences.

Sadly, beagle, no.

America is a failed experiment. Too much of humanity does not REALLY want freedom, individual liberty, all the wonderful elements in our Declaration of Independence. Too much of humanity just wants to be taken care of, and if that means a little soft tyranny--and then hey, a lot more tyranny--they're fine with it. What separates Leftists from those who are "fine with it" is that Leftists imagine they are the ones imposing the tyranny.

I don't love knowing this but I have accepted it. And my great hope is not in America at any rate.

I can only assume you are directing this towards democrats. Gee, I wonder where all these declarations of the sky is falling is coming from? Could it be......you're simply a sucker for extreme far right wing propaganda? :icon_rolleyes:

You're an idiot if you believe that, because the majority of people who enlist in the U.S. Military are teenagers, many of them right out of high school. What? You want them to enlist, but then do menial jobs until they reach the age of 21? Not only would that seriously cut down on recruitment levels, but it would have a lot of people who would basically be useless to today's technical military until they hit 21.

And yeah, security IS taken very seriously in the military, even if a person is under the age of 21. I've known many people over the 20 years that I served who were under 21 with a high level clearance who were very good at their jobs.

As far as what should happen to this individual? Process him as far under the UCMJ as possible, send him to courts martial and let him have an all expense paid vacation at Leavenworth for a few years. Same thing that has been done to others who have violated the trust the military has given them. Ever heard of John Walker and his spy ring family? Look him up sometime, and you'd find that this isn't the first incident where young people have sold secrets to our opponents.

Okay, so he was working as full time military and should have known better. Process his ass to the fullest extent and hammer his tits. But, there have been incidents like this happen over the years, you can't weed out all the bad ones no matter how hard you try. A prime example is John Walker and his spy ring family which happened a couple of decades ago. Unfortunately, these things will happen, no matter how well someone is screened, because there are always gonna be people who don't have loyalty to their country or their position in the military and will sell it out (or brag needlessly) to others.

If he had been a weekend warrior on 2 weeks active duty, I would also place blame on the military for giving him access, but that isn't the case, so all the blame rests solidly on the individual who did this.

I wasn't voicing an opinion, I was voicing FACTS. Why do you think teenagers get into so much trouble. It's the hormones driving them crazy. You are quite ignorant. Security is a very big issue, not to be taken lightly l, especially in this day and age. Why else do you think this geek did it ? Explain that. Teenagers like, need to impress their friends. The drive is strong, driven by raging hormones.

It's readily apparent to even the most casual observer that you have never gone through boot camp, nor have you ever served in the military. If you had, you would see where your OPINION (not fact) is wrong.

While I will agree with you that young people have more hormones running wild through them, that doesn't necessarily mean that they can't control them. The first day of boot camp, you have a bunch of individuals who operate mostly under their own volition, but by the end of boot camp, it's been trained out of them for the most part. After going through A (and sometimes C school), they fully understand their jobs and what it requires of them, as well as the rules they have to operate under. 99 percent of them will do what is required of them and do it to the best of their ability. Bragging to their peers back home about the classified parts of what they do is pretty much a non starter.

Like I said..................it's readily apparent that you have never been in the military, otherwise you wouldn't have made such ignorant statements. Most of the new recruits who join come directly out of high school (I know I did, as well as the many people I processed for enlistment while running a MEPS), and if they are qualified and make it through training, they fully understand their job and how to conduct themselves appropriately. But, there will always be a few people who will slip through the cracks, and it's not just those who are younger, as there are several instances of older personnel who have done the same thing, if not worse, than what this kid did. Check out John Walker's case sometime. He was a retired Chief who sold secrets to the Russians (one of those "older" people with lower hormone levels), who also managed to recruit his family as spies also. Matter of fact, he had his son enlist in the military so that his son could pass secrets to him which he sold to the Russians.

You are such a a fool to make such assumptions. I enlisted and served honorably during the Vietnam War. Joining the military is generally viewed as being patriotic. When in reality, young men and women see it as an opportunity and disregard the real dangers of doing so because of their hormone levels. In essence, they do not fear death or even think about it. On the other hand, staying in the military as a " lifer " does reflect patriotism. Try to have a good day, I plan on it.
