airplanemechanic ‘s apparently harmless adventure with his eighth grade girlfriend certainly brought up memories … but it does raise issues.

Not just parenting and child-raising issues, which are tough enough. Also legal issues.

In our society’s understandable horror at pedophilia — thought of and usually meaning men abusing young boys or girls — I wonder how many cases involving willing young kids (close in age) engaging in sexual activities end up leading to charges, perhaps even legal charges ruining lives.

I guess most “experimenting” like this is harmless and natural, and may never come to the attention of parents. If it leads to unwanted pregnancy I guess it gets resolved by abortion or marriage (as in the past). I really haven’t any idea what sexual mores exist today among youth of different classes and backgrounds. These things, natural enough as they may be, can certainly lead to big problems for children.

Obviously, I don't follow them, because I didn't know they held that idea. Man, what a dumb thing to say (of course, this is assuming that the tweet is accurate and is actually from them). Sex was given to us for far more than just reproduction, and I strongly disagree with them on that, AND challenge anyone who holds that view to give me the foundation of why they think that.
