Which means in longer contemporary phrasing;

Doesn't deny the diversity of origins, rather that such will not be in the way of a common goal and agenda.

It is using your brain in a different way and helping you to think laterally and possibly with greater precision .

I did not enjoy learning it at the time because the method of its teaching then was poor --- endless Punic Wars etc .
But now I appreciate the several benefits it produced .
