Latest SC Polls: Rubio Overtakes Cruz, Kasich Overtakes Cruz, Trump Way Out Front

Even though this article is from The Atlantic...it accurately underscores the disadvantage the establishment candidates will have, all due to rules that the RNC instituted to insure their inevitable ascension. Sweet irony.

Are the Republican Establishment Candidates Finished?

There will be a lot of pressure for Bush and Kasich to drop out if they do poorly in SC. I would imagine if both hang on until the SEC primary, they will be finished then. If they continue on, Trump could win the nomination without winning more than 40% of the vote nationally. I can't imagine either Kasich or Bush putting their ego in front of the party if they are consistently finishing out of the top 3.

Then, Cruz will matter. If Cruz loses SC and does poorly in the SEC primaries, would he stay in? If he can't win there, where can he win? And will he stay in when he can't win?

Trump won't win in head-to-head match-ups with Rubio or Cruz. So if Cruz drops out, Rubio will be the nominee. If he doesn't, it will probably go all the way to the convention. And if it does, will Cruz support Trump? I would have said Yes a month ago, but after watching Trump go after him personally in a way I've never seen in a primary before, I don't know if he would.

Fox News post debate poll has Trump Right where he has been since the beginning...out in front.

Bush is going to stay in until he runs out of money I expect.

Kasich? It depends on South Carolina.

Cruz isn't dropping out, nor Rubio.

In a three way race, Trump wins for sure.

In a two way race, after the Southern States are out of the mix. Trump beats Cruz head to head in the more moderate states. Trump wins.

Trump vs. Rubio? I think Trump takes enough of Cruz supporters and Carson supporters just on the amnesty question to beat Rubio. It will be closer than the others, but these are winner take all and winner take most states. It's going to be very difficult for Rubio to overcome Trumps momentum.

Even with a huge "Anyone but Romney" sentiment in 2012, he was still inevitable, just like he said he would be. By the point where it's a two man race...it's way too late. And with the shortened primary season, doubly so.

If Trump, Cruz, Rubio and Bush stay in it until the end, and I expect they will, Trump will take the nomination via the winner take all states that the RNC instituted ensure their more moderate candidate gets the nomination.

And yet bush is no longer paying his employees after Saturday...

How so? He's been kicking both their asses in every poll.

Head-to-Head, Trump Trails Cruz, Rubio Badly

Lol, that outlier poll was found to be flawed. It was proven to be a Rupert Murdoch hit poll against Trump.

I hope you understand just how disingenuous you sounded right about now.

Don't you like someone who worships a party which is between a socialist who admits it and a socialist felon who doesn't making fun of the other party? I mean ouch. Not.

Besides, anyone who supports trump already does. As Republicans drop out, their supporters are not going to Trump. He's way below 50%, he won't win
The math on Trump is interesting. He may very well sweep into the republican nomination because with the number of republican canidates splitting the vote he has a strong plurality of the vote. However, polls also show that he is also the canidate for which the highest percentage of people would never vote.
Rubio would not be my first choice, but I prefer him over Trump.
Why would you prefer Rubio? He's for amnesty.

So you agree with Trump on every issue since that's apparently your standard, monkey man?
Yes I agree with Trump. The 3rd worlders and wetbacks need to all be deported. Oh and Obama is the monkey man.

You've got the monkey on your avatar, monkey man

"All" is bit of a broad brush.

Monkey man means all. Mexicans, like everyone else are smarter than he is. Just more competition he can't compete with

Yeah, just like when conservatives were saying all the polls were wrong in 2012.

If Cruz wins SC, the race gets very interesting.

The WSJ poll, taken after the debate, shows Trump losing ground amongst very conservative voters and tea party activists.

Other than Rand, I leaned towards Cruz as my leader. Wow, he's determined to screw himself. The "carpet bombing" quote, his meltdown in the Iowa debate that the reporters were a bunch of meanies, the Rubio photo shop. It's getting hard to believe he's balanced enough to be President. And this is an election with Trump, it's not easy to stand out as unbalanced

He's not balanced enough to be President. He doesn't have the temperament. That's clear.

I don't want that guy with his finger on the button, deciding whether or not to send Americans off to die in wars.

You know "finger on the button" is a reference to nuclear war that destroys the earth, not conventional wars, right?

As for your point on conventional wars, that's frankly pretty silly. He's not going to be different than any other Republican.

The things he says though are ridiculous. Obama may be a vacuous leftist so the things he says may be completely inane, but most of the world are vacuous leftists, so he doesn't stand out. Cruz actually saying though the statements that were caricatures of W for real though isn't going to help anyone. And his thin skin is going to just make the media keep trying to push his buttons (pun intended..)

Bernie and Hillary are nothing but the reincarnation of Chamberlain, just like Obama is.

I'm not sure Hillary is. Mainstream Democrats may attack Republicans for using the military, but they've demonstrated no tendency to actually use the military less than Republicans. Look at tall the military shit Obama's done in the middle east
