Koch Brothers Freeze Out Donald Trump

Of course not. The lefties on this board make up shit as they go.

If it were true I doubt Trump gives a shit what the Koch brothers have to say. He's a billionaire and he sure as shit don't need their money.

He's saying things that those polled seem to like as he's leading in the national polls.

No one made up any "shit" you can read the sourced article if you want and whether or not you accept it is entirely up to you, but any war with the Koch brothers is a loser unless you think the $889 billion they spend to influence the election is completely wasted money.

That's funny. How much to you think those supporting the DNC spend on an election???

I have no idea, I'm sure it's a lot and I find it funny for all that money very few of their pet projects come to fruition.

Kochs want a Candidate they can control like Cruz, Rubio or Walker, in all fairness Jeb and Trump won't follow Koch different reasons.

Trump is lovable in the way he has no filter and just calls everyone out for a street fight.

Bush is just keeping his head down for the moment until a vast majority of the real crazies are gone. He knows that videos of him arguing with an idiot will hurt him nationally. Bush is here to win the national not look good in the primaries. That is where Mitt went wrong, he went too far in the primaries and couldn't roll back enough in the nationals.

Hillary is doing the same on the Dem side. She isn't following Sanders into the woods with anything that is not center left.

Concerning the part about Hillary.
The progressives already know where she is not center-left on. That is why they keep hammering away on those issues!

Like I said in another thread, she is playing a dangerous game of Hide and Seek with the progressives, but they already know. They want her to explain herself!

The GOP has just admitted that it is controlled by the Koch bros. :D

And by dissing T-Rump they are almost certain to give him the motivation to run as a 3rd party candidate.

Which means that the GOP with lose in 2016 and the Koch's will have wasted another couple of billion without realizing their dream of destroying American by turning it into a Libertarian nightmare.

Sounds like a win-win for the Dems.

So the GOP is controlled by the Koch brothers and the DNC is controlled by Soros.
Why do we continue to vote for them?
Big money controls both parties and nothing is going to change this until we stop voting for either one.

We the People need to make it clear to our elected representatives that Citizens United needs to be eliminated.

That would also include the Unions.

Yup!

!00% of all outside money removed from elections. All candidates get the same amount of funding from the government.

Outside parties would not be allowed to do anything at all to interfere with the outcome of elections. No advertising, raising contributions, no organization, nothing.

It appears the Koch brothers have decided that Donald Trump is not the man who they want to see in the White House. But have they made a mistake? Trump doesn't need their formidable resources and winning a nomination will all but ruin their hopes of being political Godfathers not to mention the problem of having a president of the United States at serious odds with them.

The Koch brothers are freezing out Donald Trump from their influential political operation — denying him access to their state-of-the-art data and refusing to let him speak to their gatherings of grass-roots activists or major donors. Continued stiff-arming by the powerful Koch network could limit Trump’s ability to build a professional campaign operation to mobilize supporters ahead of primaries and caucuses. The Koch operation has spurned entreaties from the Trump campaign to purchase state-of-the-art data and analytics services from a Koch-backed political tech firm called i360, and also turned down a request to allow Trump to speak at an annual grass-roots summit next month in Columbus, Ohio, sponsored by the Koch-backed group Americans for Prosperity, POLITICO has learned.

Despite a long and cordial relationship between the real estate showman and David Koch, as well as a raft of former Koch operatives who are now running Trump’s presidential campaign, the Koch political operation appears to have concluded that Trump is the wrong standard-bearer for the GOP. And the network of Koch-backed policy and political outfits is using behind-the-scenes influence to challenge Trump more forcefully than the Republican Party establishment — by limiting his access to the support and data that would help him translate his lead in the polls into a sustainable White House campaign.

In addition, Trump was not invited to the annual summer gathering of the network of hundreds of conservative mega-donors and operatives helmed by the billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch. That’s despite the Trump campaign filling out a questionnaire detailing the candidate’s policy positions and submitting it to Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, the Koch umbrella group organizing the summit. The three-day meeting in Orange County, California, will feature appearances from a handful of candidates whose politics reflect more closely the Kochs’ fiscally conservative worldview — including Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker — and even long-shot Carly Fiorina. Rand Paul, who is also fondly regarded by some in the Koch operation, was invited, but he has not accepted and is unlikely to attend.

It’s unclear whether the Koch network intends to weigh in more directly against Trump, with the preferred approach seemingly being to allow him to flame out on his own. But if the network were to decide to mobilize against him, it could strain its efforts to remain above the GOP fray, while also testing its ability to shape the primary.

Gee...if only the Koch brothers came up with a scheme to make people buy their products....I suppose the left would love them....hay...that sounds like Obamacare.

Do you have any idea how much Charles and David Koch are worth? They could outspend Donald Trump several times over even if we took the figures Donald Trump claims to be worth as fact. Saying that ANY GOP nominee doesn't need the Koch brothers support is utterly and completely ludicrous. If David and Charles Koch decide they don't want the GOP to support Donald Trump, he will NOT get the nomination. Bank on it.

As for a later remark about Soros, again, do you know what he's worth vs what the Koch brothers are worth? Republicans don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to pointing fingers at the left for Soros when they have two far right wing donors worth twice as much as Soros. That argument isn't just tired, it's stupid.

The thing of it is Dems have been saying this for 40 years ever since Carter ran on it 1976. Way before the ruling on Citizens United.
Jimmy Carter, accepting the Democratic nomination, July 1976: "Too often unholy, self-perpetuating alliances have been formed between money and politics, and the average citizen has been held at arm's length."
Nothing has been done on it by either party, yet we still keep electing them.
We all need to vote for anyone who is not a R or a D or nothing will change.

That may be but Trump doesn't need their money at all.

The DNC has big donors as does te GOP. They all spend money on the parties.

Nothing is going to change that until someone who doesn't need the money gets elected.

Yes, he does. If the Koch brothers don't want him to get the Republican nomination, he won't. They can outspend him over and over and over and over ad nauseam and between their influence and his inability to not be a complete toolbag, he won't get the nomination. Period. They have far more political power than anyone else in the GOP and that's why so many people say they control the party.

You forget that he's leading the national polls because he's saying things people like. People who vote.

Will that have any bearing on what those with the money will do??

Don't know. Only time will tell on that one.

Clearly it doesn't or the Koch brothers wouldn't be shutting him out. They don't give a damn about polling numbers, they want the best candidate their money can buy and that's not Donald Trump. He's a loose cannon that is really only speaking for the far right wing of the party.

The GOP has just admitted that it is controlled by the Koch bros. :D

How so?

Per the OP:

"the Koch political operation appears to have concluded that Trump is the wrong standard-bearer for the GOP. "

That's the Koch Bros' decision and their money to do with what they please, just like any other donor or PAC. How does that translate into the GOP admitting the Koch Bros allegedly control their party? I saw no such admission made by any member of the GOP anywhere.

So just because there is no outright admission of corruption then it isn't happening in the GOP?

But that's not what you said now, is it.

I don't think that Trump has considered that if he should win the White House he will have Secret Service around him for the rest of his life, eliminating all privacy. Doesn't sound like something he would enjoy.

It's not about the money for elections so much, it's what they do for the paybacks after they are elected.
Solyndra for example. There are thousands of these when each and every one in Congress and each of our Presidents do this.
Proof of that was when Walker was re-elected, the left raised more money to stop him but that did not work out so well did it.
It is the special interest paybacks that is harming us.

When it looks like he will have a real good chance of winning, he will do something to make everyone angry.
It's a pattern with him.
