Or as Democrats call it, payback.

Via KSHB:

According to police, officers responded to a shots fired call at 1:33 p.m. at Second and Edgerton. The caller said multiple people were shooting at him from a vehicle. Officers arrived at the scene at 1:37 p.m., and the suspects fled from the vehicle. An officer took one person into custody. As the second officer pursued the other suspects and made contact with one of them at 1:57 p.m., multiple shots were fired, and the officer was hit.

The officer was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition. Authorities said he was wearing a bullet-resistant vest.

Police continue to search for the other suspects.

Could it have been garden variety bad guys, not an ambush? Keep us updated.

Columbus police officer hospitalized after glass found in sandwich

Looks like they need to start brown bagging it.

(is brown bagging racist?)
It was a "progressive" coffee house.

Via 10TV:

The officer, who has not been named, was eating at the Lincoln Cafe on East Long Street on Monday when he “heard a crunch” as he bit into the sandwich, according to police. The officer then noticed his mouth was bleeding and found a piece of glass.

The officer drove himself to Grant Medical Center where tests were performed.

The Operational Manager at Lincoln Cafe tells 10TV the business has a long history with police and has not had any similar events in the past.

Meanwhile, Columbus Public Health has visited the cafe and will release a report Tuesday afternoon.
