MANSFIELD - Two local judges have expressed concern about a state initiative to give counties money to establish their own probation departments or supplement existing ones.

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction received grant funding to replace existing agreements with the Adult Parole Authority.

Richland County will receive $450,000 in each of the next two years for five new probation officers, training, office space and equipment.
