Waiting for Facts Is Racism: Jon Stewart Joins the Ferguson Mob

Jon Stewart has no idea what happened in Ferguson, MO, but pretends he does. And according to the Washington Post and much of the media, that's how Stewart ObliteratedDestroyedBlastedDemolishedShredded Fox News.

Let his trained seals in the media clap. The bottom line to Jon Stewart's rant is that he believes that waiting for facts is racism.
--
--
Somehow…
Stewart just knows Michael Brown put his hands up.
Stewart just knows racism was behind the shooting of Michael Brown.
Stewart just knows the shooting of Michael Brown was unjustified.
Stewart just knows that Al Sharpton's symbolic summits in Chicago are enough.
Stewart just knows that America's racial grifters and media are doing everything they can to stop the bloodshed in Chicago.
Stewart just knows that there's no more context behind all the facts and figures he cites except, of course, racism.

Even before the Justice Department, Stewart has already gotten to the bottom of what happened in Ferguson, and that gives him the right to step up on a pedestal, wag his widdle finger, and morally preen over those of us who believe in a little thing Americans like to call "waiting for the facts" or "due process" or "justice."

But because we don't have Stewart's magic crystal ball (and he's not sharing), all The Great Unwashed can do instead is wait for the facts, and in the meantime attempt to point out how dangerous, violent, and destructive things always get when those who don't wait for the facts (or share their crystal ball) scream racism based only on speculation.

Stewart isn't attacking Fox News for anything the network did wrong. He's attacking the network for waiting for the facts and wondering why those who aren't don't give a damn about the hundreds of black Americans murdered annually in Chicago.

That's wrong now.
That's racist now.
That's stupid now.
Up is down now.
Right is wrong now.
The police are corrupt; only the police should have guns.
The police are corrupt, but the government they serve is good.
Slavery is freedom.
George Zimmerman is white.
Join the mob or… Jon Stewart's going to look into the camera, tap his pencil, and make a funny face that ObliteratesDestroysBlastsDemolishesShreds you.

ALL of it here:
Waiting for Facts Is Racism Jon Stewart Joins the Ferguson Mob

television is for idiots.
Shallow, vulgar passive entertainment for empty minds.

You know what's telling? How many liberals get the bulk of their news from a comedian.

as opposed to how many right-wingers voted for a former actor?

You know you've lost the point when you seriously try comparing Jon Stewart to Ronald Reagan.

Jon Stewart is far brighter than Reagan ever was. Reagan was propped up and controlled by Donald Regan, the ex-CEO of Merrill Lynch, and thus the downward spiral began.

Ah...there are 14 writers for the Jon Stewart show. You mistake the collective "brightness" of all those people for the brightness of the star of a television show. I'm not saying that Stewart is an idiot...but you need to understand that he's NOT as funny nor as intelligent as you seem to think.

Think of it along the lines with how bright Barry is when he's not reading off a teleprompter and you get the gist of what I'm saying.

Yepp. All those pols with teleprompters.

But whacked out Righties only see this:

140879817_obama_teleprompter_helmet_xlarge.jpeg

Poor whacked-out Righties. So out of touch with reality. Really.

I never said that other Presidents didn't use teleprompters, Stats...my point was that Presidents reading the words of someone else off of a teleprompter make themselves appear more intelligent than they really are...just as Jon Stewart reading the lines given to him by the 14 staff writers from the Daily Show is going to appear funnier and more intelligent than he really is.

But thanks for all the photos...:dunno::dunno::dunno:

Strong disagreement from me. A president reading from a teleprompter in the age of Television is no different than presidents who used to read from their own typed notes. It makes them neither more intelligent nor less intelligent than they are, imo, but it does help them to organize their thoughts.

I'm not quite sure what difference it makes if they are reading from a teleprompter or from typed notes, Stats...the point remains the same! Is someone REALLY that intelligent if they need to be constantly fed lines from someone else? Barack Obama actually seems to think that he's the smartest man in the room wherever he goes and yet when he's not reading from a script he doesn't come across as even remotely intelligent. That isn't "organizing your thoughts"...that's being a talking head!

My point was that if you put Barack Obama and Paul Ryan on a stage sans teleprompters and typed notes...and then had them take questions about complex economic issues, Ryan would excel and Obama would bomb. Quite frankly, I don't find Barack Obama to be very well versed in general economic fundamentals. It's obvious that is a subject that he never took in school and one that he has little interest in because it's confusing to him.

That is only your opinion, which you are welcome to.

Do you disagree with my assessment of what would happen if Obama and Ryan squared off answering off the cuff questions about the economy without teleprompters or written notes? My "opinion" is that Ryan would excel in that arena and that it would be Obama's worst nightmare.

I'm also of the "opinion" that if Barack Obama and Trey Gowdy squared off in an off the cuff discussion of legal issues with unscripted questions that Gowdy would humiliate Obama.

And with all due respect...you could take away the teleprompter from Paul Ryan and he wouldn't miss a beat talking about complex economic issues. He's one of the smarter people on the Hill when it comes to that. Take away Barry's teleprompter and ask him to address complex economic issues and you're probably not going to like what you get.

funny... i'll pick the constitutional scholar over the randian idiot any day of the week.

just saying

Since the number one issue for Americans is the economy, being a "constitutional scholar" is about as valuable as tits on a bull. Just saying...

and if the teatards in congress stopped obstructing our recovery, no doubt we'd be doing better.

you can't crash the economy and then blame the guy who's cleaning up your mess for not doing it quickly enough while you stand in front of him and shriek

costing the economy 24 billion by shutting down the government in a fit of pique probably didn't help.

additionally: our top 1% is doing great.

our stock market is doing amazingly well.

we are creating over 200,000 jobs a month instead of bleeding over 800,00 jobs when bush crashed the economy.

the fact that things aren't going quicker is the rightwing refusal to raise necessary revenue and enact actual jobs programs.

you get to wear that, not the president.

The GOP led House has sent over 300 bills to the Democratically controlled Senate and those bills are sitting on Harry Reid's desk! If you want to REALLY talk about obstructionism...let's start with a discussion about why Harry won't let bills even come to the floor for a discussion, let alone a vote!

The Democrats were fully as responsible for the economic crash as the Republicans were.

Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi were more than willing to let the government be shut down because they believed that the main stream media would portray the GOP as the ones who wouldn't compromise when in fact it was BOTH SIDES that refused to budge.

The 1% is one of the few demographics in the US that IS doing well under this President! God knows that the middle class is getting screwed six ways to Sunday! And that's BEFORE the true costs of ObamaCare rear their ugly heads.

It's six years after the recession and our economy still sucks. We've spent trillions on stimulus and quantitative easing and the resulting job creation has been pathetic. If you took away the jobs created in GOP controlled States like Texas and South Dakota they would be even MORE pathetic!

Raising revenue? You can't even bring yourself to say raise taxes...can you? If you think that raising taxes is going to create jobs then you're as clueless about economics as our current President is!

Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi were more than willing to let the government be shut down because they believed that the main stream media would portray the GOP as the ones who wouldn't compromise when in fact it was BOTH SIDES that refused to budge.
..and when the gvt WAS "shut down" what did obama close?
During the 2013 government shutdown, Obama only shut down services that helped people and kept services that harmed people like the NSA fully active; he also kept all the luxuries for politicians going.
What's worse is he spent billions of dollars to keep people out of public areas, including arresting people, during the shutdown.
He spends millions of dollars and manpower removing well pumps along 184 mile of trails in public parks so people can't get water to drink. He closed The National Mall,(owned by THE PEOPLE, not him)

A park service ranger even said, “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”[

HAHAHA Stewart owned them once again. Hannity has great advice...Just lift up your shirt and show your gun. That should turn out just swell by golly lol

you can't crash the economy and then blame the guy who's cleaning up your mess for not doing it quickly enough while you stand in front of him and shriek

Thomas Sowell says the US Govt. should have done NOTHING to end the recession. And that, by tinkering and screwing with trying to fix it Obama made it last longer than it would have lasted.

He would have truly helped America by doing nothing!

Do facts matter to YOU, Jillian?

THE FINANCIAL CRISIS: FACING THE FACTS

OPINION EDITORIAL BY THOMAS SOWELL — 4 OCT 2008

21 comments from readers »

Few seem to understand the political and economic realities behind the current financial crisis. Yet we all must confront these facts before entering the voting booth on November 4th. Our nation depends on it.

Abraham Lincoln said, “You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time.”

Unfortunately, the future of this country, as well as the fate of the Western world, depends on how many people can be fooled on election day, just a few weeks from now.

Right now, the polls indicate that a whole lot of the people are being fooled a whole lot of the time.

The current financial bailout crisis has propelled Barack Obama back into a substantial lead over John McCain — which is astonishing in view of which man and which party has had the most to do with bringing on this crisis.

It raises the question: Do facts matter? Or is Obama’s rhetoric and the media’s spin enough to make facts irrelevant?

Fact Number One: It was liberal Democrats, led by Senator Christopher Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank, who for years — including the present year — denied that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were taking big risks that could lead to a financial crisis.

It was Senator Dodd, Congressman Frank and other liberal Democrats who for years refused requests from the Bush administration to set up an agency to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

It was liberal Democrats, again led by Dodd and Frank, who for years pushed for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to go even further in promoting subprime mortgage loans, which are at the heart of today’s financial crisis.

Alan Greenspan warned them four years ago. So did the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers to the President. So did Bush’s Secretary of the Treasury, five years ago.

Yet, today, what are we hearing? That it was the Bush administration “right-wing ideology” of “de-regulation” that set the stage for the financial crisis. Do facts matter?

We also hear that it is the free market that is to blame. But the facts show that it was the government that pressured financial institutions in general to lend to subprime borrowers, with such things as the Community Reinvestment Act and, later, threats of legal action by then Attorney General Janet Reno if the feds did not like the statistics on who was getting loans and who wasn’t.

Is that the free market? Or do facts not matter?

Then there is the question of being against the “greed” of CEOs and for “the people.” Franklin Raines made $90 million while he was head of Fannie Mae and mismanaging that institution into crisis.

Who in Congress defended Franklin Raines? Liberal Democrats, including Maxine Waters and the Congressional Black Caucus, at least one of whom referred to the “lynching” of Raines, as if it was racist to hold him to the same standard as white CEOs.

Even after he was deposed as head of Fannie Mae, Franklin Raines was consulted this year by the Obama campaign for his advice on housing!

The Washington Post criticized the McCain campaign for calling Raines an adviser to Obama, even though that fact was reported in the Washington Post itself on July 16th. The technicality and the spin here is that Raines is not officially listed as an adviser. But someone who advises is an adviser, whether or not his name appears on a letterhead.

The tie between Barack Obama and Franklin Raines is not all one-way. Obama has been the second-largest recipient of Fannie Mae’s financial contributions, right after Senator Christopher Dodd.

But ties between Obama and Raines? Not if you read the mainstream media.

Facts don’t matter much politically if they are not reported.

The media alone are not alone in keeping the facts from the public. Republicans, for reasons unknown, don’t seem to know what it is to counter-attack. They deserve to lose.

But the country does not deserve to be put in the hands of a glib and cocky know-it-all, who has accomplished absolutely nothing beyond the advancement of his own career with rhetoric, and who has for years allied himself with a succession of people who have openly expressed their hatred of America.

They have some pretty cool military hardware tho.

Not really, most of the hardware belongs to the State/Troopers. I saw a report somewhere that Ferguson has no armored vehicles, though I can't find that link. I found this link that breaks what they got down to washcloths (? lol) though Database How many grenade launchers did Michigan police departments receive Detroit Free Press freep.com=
