“As I prepare to leave this all behind, I now leave you in control of the greatest nation of mankind and pray God gives you the wisdom to understand the responsibility you hold in your hands.”

An amazing story, an amazing man, an amazing career

This is so very touching. Imagine spending literally your last moments on Earth, bidding farewell to the country you served and love.

"Deepest sympathies to Congresswoman Debbie Dingell and the entire family of John Dingell. Longest serving Congressman in Country’s history which, if people understand politics, means he was very smart. A great reputation and highly respected man." - Trump

" Dingell would see the Red Scare of the 1950s, the golden age of civil-rights legislation, and the end of the Cold War. He would vote for the passage of Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act, pushing toward his father’s goal of universal health care. And Dingell would serve with—but never, he would insist, under—11 presidents."

That district has been in "Dingle hands" for nearly 90 years. He inherited the district from his father after, I think, 22 years. His wife inherited the district after he retired.

Leftists think they're that important. Like RBG, they refuse to give up ruling over others.

I wish they'd just go away and stop meddling in the country

Legacies are a central part of Congress. But that doesn’t make them a good thing. Dingell, because his father was in Congress, grew up in D.C., attending Georgetown Prep and prowling the halls of Capitol Hill. He even went to college and law school in D.C., spending only a few months living in Michigan before he took his father’s seat. Then, he was permanently ensconced in his House seat for decades before taking a D.C.-based lobbyist as his wife.

"

So we should celebrate that we were stuck with a fucking socialist for six decades? Good riddance to the SOB. May he rot in his grave.

Do you think he's talking to Ruthie on the other side?

Yes. He says “Ruth, Ruth, come TOWARDS the light!”

Hapsburgs of America.

Well, maybe not quite as inbred.

John Dingell was a cautionary tale of the failings of a representative system of government and the Dingell family ran their little fiefdom for about ninety years in all switching off family members in order to keep their piece of pie for themselves.
What is it about Michigan? He was a lackey of the auto industry and won't be missed outside of his fiefdom and maybe not even there.
Sometimes we get it wrong in America...Big John Dingell was such a case.

"John would have been so proud to see Democrats & Republicans come together to sign a landmark public lands bill to conserve and protect America’s wild plants, fish, animals, and their habitats. Smiles and tears all at once. -Official White House Photo by Shealah Craighead" - Debbie Dingell

Congress Sends President Public Lands Package Honoring John D. Dingell

"The last time I spoke to Debbie Dingell was her call thanking me for granting top memorial and funeral service honors for her then just departed husband, long time Congressman John Dingell. Now I watch her ripping me as part of the Democrats Impeachment Hoax. Really pathetic!" - President Trump just now on twitter

He's exactly right. Democrats have no decency

Ignorant America hating tard. We are among the LOWEST

American populations are noteworthy for their extremely low inbreeding rates, with the mean frequency of first cousin marriages in the United States probably lower than 0.1 per cent.
