John Boehner 'Dictatorship' Is Letting Time Run Out To Avert 'Fiscal Cliff'

Anyone who believes a word that comes out of Harry Reid's mouth is a moron. Boehner finally did something right by walking away. Let the chips fall where they may- this is what was agreed to. Obama and the Democrats had plenty of time to avert the "Cliff" and chose not to.

Higher taxes are good for everyone, right liberals?? Surely you can afford to pay your "fair" share, right? A little sacrifice won't hurt....... At least we get some spending cuts this way......:clap2:

I agree in regard to seeing deep cuts being made and EVERYONE having their taxes go up.

Yes, EVERYONE! Isn't that the new Dem motto? Equality and their version of fair? What? Everyone does not fit in that? Oh.. OK
I know, I'm going to be hurt from it, but it is the right thing to do. Obama wants the fair shares, well, We all need skin in the game to make it "fair shares". At least this is the only way we get our spending cuts that are needed. We all have to remember that not only did America want to increase taxes on the rich, they also wanted spending cuts. The best way to do that is to have the politicians removed from the process....which the fiscal cliff did.

This is just a clear illustration of how deeply divided the nation is. If this is what rips the final thread apart, so be it. It's a good thing. It's long past time the nation gave up the pretense of working together.

oh for fucks sake. Are you ever NOT in overdrive rw drama mode  Its Washington kabuki theater.

Yeah, this has nothing to do with the country at large, it's future well being or anything that that is going to do anyone a bit of good. It's the visible consequences of what is essentially an internal republican party leadership struggle. It cannot be construed as positive responsible leadership in any way.

"Yeah, this has nothing to do with the country at large" Really? You're joking right? :eusa_eh:

The originator of this thread is an ignoramus in two key ways (note, in respect to this thread, I'm sure there are a great many additional ways):

1. He/she/it offers absolutely no additional content to explain why the link is relevant.

2. Boehner is not a dictator. He is the Majority Leader of the House, which has voted on plans to avert the cliff, as well as budgets which the Senate refused to take to a vote.

If the Senate and the White House had not ignored the Constitutional requirement to have a Budget, this entire mess would have been avoided. But they prefer the chaos because it creates a Fog which provides coverage while they expand the reach of government.

Are you against raising tax rates? Or are you against the budget cuts? That's what we're getting with this 'cliff'. What do you propose...and why?

It's the visible consequences of what is essentially an internal republican party leadership struggle. It cannot be construed as positive responsible leadership in any way.

While I'm no Republican, the R controlled House already passed legislation that would prevent increases on anyone's taxes. I didn't see a struggle to get that bill passed, not at all.

So again, what's your proposal that would constitute "responsible leadership"?

Dead serious, the long dreaded republican party civil war is heating up to destructive levels and there will be only losers. There might even be fistfights the first day the house comes back and Boehner knows this better than anyone, it's why he is reluctant to come back and start the riot early.

Notice what happens 10 years out according to the CBO using the tax increases and spending cuts associated with the fiscal cliff. How can this be bad for America in the long run?

Reid: Time has run out on 'fiscal cliff' - Washington Times

Exactly. The "Cliff" is the best thing that can happen to our country. Raise taxes on all, and cut spending.

If Americans are unwilling to make any sacrifice or experience a little pain, then we are going the way of Greece in a few short years. The joyride is over. It's time to face the music......

Mark my words, the first week back will be the most embarrassing shit you have ever seen a group of American politicians do and it will be 100% about personal careers and 0% the good of the country.

Unlike the other 51 weeks...:cool::rolleyes:

The fact is, they're all posturing.

Boehner said the Dems weren't serious, Reid is saying Boehner isn't serious...

But absolutely ZERO USMBers are included in these closed door discussions. So let's all be uhhh, aware of that fact when we make our disses.

I say bring it. The sooner the house of cards crashes, the better.

The better for whom? Seriously, this is the most easily avoidable"crisis" of our lifetime.
