Yet, people don't refer to this as the "alt left". Some of her followers have interfered in basic commerce and development. This ideology of the far left is becoming more mainstream in the Democrat party, especially with people like Socialist Bernie, Warren and a few others. We are seeing the results in school, which are supposed to be a bastion of free speech and debate. You are silenced if you have any conservative or free market ideals.

The very soul of America and capitalism is at stake and far too many are embracing this as something appealing. Go ask those who risked their lives to come to America from socialist countries. They don't see anything wrong with government intervention as long as their is personal profit.

One final point to make, well known socialist Castro just died. he was just short of dying a billionaire. I suppose to somehe earned this money due to all of his great contributions...

Except it's not entirely true, especially going forward. Remember this decision to move to Mexico had been made over a year ago, Trump himself said he assumed it was already a done deal and that it wasn't until the fact that a worker was caught doing an interview and Trump saw it, in which the worker stated that "we aren't losing our jobs because Trump said we wouldn't during his campaign", that Trump acted. Trump stated that basically he felt he had to keep his word on the promise after seeing this. His threats during the campaign were that they would face a tariff coming back in to America, this is something he is looking to enact. Regardless, he and Pence did what they could to save the jobs.

I believe it is a case of give the carrot now, next time it's the stick. I'm a laissez-faire economist, but there are limits to everything. If you are subjecting your own companies to rules and regulations which stifle them while the competitors aren't, you are in big trouble. Globalization isn't what was intended. It wasn't supposed to be strictly about chasing low wages, which is what it has been. Concepts of skill, innovation, finding skilled workers and competition globally are replaced with "find the lowest wages overseas, sell the products back in America".

Ultimately this is a very complex issue. However, if nations were providing a fair and level playing field, America wouldn't have lost nearly the same number of jobs. This is why eliminating taxes and regulations will be a huge deal. Shipping jobs to jurisdictions who rely on low currency, in particular when purposely devalued, also comes at a cost. Whether it be tariffs or outing a business overtly on Twitter, its all fair game.

The end result here has been the same for a bit over half a century now;

Privatized gains versus socialized losses for the Wall Street bankster class
Internalized losses versus externalized risk and expense for the "job creator" class
Socialism for the aristocracy versus laizzes-faire capitalism for the masses

The Greens just gave the anti-choice folks the Court back for a generation, killed Obamacare, while kicking millions off Medicaid and block granting it, AND killing Medicare, AND ensured the tax code favors the .1% even more. AND Ryan's eyeing soc sec.

So, I suspect Stein realizes, belatedly, that her little adventure turned out to not really be about her.

Not that I'm not pleased to be rid of Obamacare or that I don't know Medicare reform is necessary, or that I give fig about poor women needing abortions .... So LONG as we get rid of Sec. 8 housing and food aid.
