we need to encourage folks who see the light and walk back their racist instincts.

I think he should get a pass for what he said as a teenager

He apologized profusely and those who know him as an adult claim he is not a racist. The fans are not applauding what he said as a teen but are letting him know they have his back

Replace the racist remark w/any other societal slight or even crime and see if the standing ovation still applies.

Forty six frickin' minutes, that tells me you are promoting a show just to see a black woman get pissed?

Mark Wahlberg is a good example

He was in a gang and a thug when he was a teen. Beat an old guy up and put him in the hospital. Not a nice kid.

Now, he is a major star and has put it behind him

We tend to forgive the sins of our youth.

I called this guy a pencil-necked geek and..

Our athletes are not angels. We do not cheer them because they were choirboys in their youth

Many came from bad backgrounds and were involved in questionable activities when they were young. They were in gangs and hung out with bad people. Assault, robbery, drug dealing....we can forgive

But making an offensive tweet when you were 17 is an outrage

I have news for her. As long as they call whites racist, refer to white supremacy, refuse to allow whites to pass through their protest lines, beat the hell out of people, burn and shit on the flag! Play the victim card. There will be no racial conversations. Their actions and hate filled rhetoric turn people off! Keep kneeling folks! Keep kneeling!

Maybe because it wasn't ALL CAPS and addressed to Iran.

So when we see the next person of color talking about whites like that and it's found years later let's see if the same rules apply here at USMB.

Because whites like most of you are still ranting about a Jessie Jackson comment made 30 years ago or Al Sharpton and Twanna Brawley, over 30 years ago.
