Kap's protest is well within the meaning of the First Amendment:

Freedom of Expression and "the right of the people to peaceably assemble and to petition the government for a redress of their grievance", was in effect when members of the community of the NFL brought attention to the world of the wrongful murders of African Americans.

The NFL is a dying brand. In 20 years, it won't exist as a nationally televised league anymore.

Who elected Goodell, or what government agency does he work for?

No one wants Kap for one reason. He’d be too much of a distraction for any team due to the media circus that would descend on team headquarters, and no coach, GM, or owner wants the ensuing distraction(s). At this point it’s got nothing to do with his taking a knee either. Had he done something else, anything, that brought similar negative attention to himself, his teammates, coaches, owner, and the league he’d be in the very same boat he is now.

Hardly

NFL is the most popular sport in the US by far. The game will be “safer” and not the same smashmouth game. Probably won’t be televised
Not because it is not as popular but because the networks can no longer afford it

NFL on Netflix

Do you have a job? If you do ask yourself what would happen to you if you held a protest at work in front of all of your company's customers....against the wishes of all of the customers....
You have a right to free speech but no one has a right to be heard.....especially when no one wants to listen to your crap...

It's only artificially safer. The CTE issue is the death knell. Any parents who let their kids play football should be ashamed. Plus they let the damned Eagles win a Superbowl.

The NFL has lost viewers faster than any other sport in the history of sports....people have choices...even for football...the NFL is not the only game in town...I turned it off years ago and don't miss it one bit....teams moving around...players holding out for more and more money...prices for a live game going up and up and up.....my once loved Raiders moving to Lost Wages for shit sake.....the NFL sucks and is getting worse....

:oops8::poop::th_weirdthread::th_panties:

This thread is fantasy, if/when you own one of the NFL teams you can petition the rest of the owners to fire him.

Right now they pay him a lot of money 200 million over 5 years to make them a lot more money.

As has been lectured time and again, the First Amendment protects you from infringement by the government. The NFL is not owned by the Government. And, the OWNERS came up with this policy.

Bunch of over paid infants....

Their rights are not being violated because they're on company time.

That said, I wish the owners wouldn't do this. I wish the Right wouldn't demand and celebrate it.

We already had one end of the political spectrum intimidating and punishing those who speak their mind, we don't need both doing it.

Again. Do employers at a theatre have a right to yell fire? How about “this movie sucks”?

Do we have the right to say anything we want on this board or is our speech monitored?

It's already a Miss Nancy game. I quit watching years ago.
