The Deep State is sworn to tear down the evil Trump Empire

This is a pretty funny characterization. I appreciate the irony.

Seriously, I think the Military Industrial Complex and Wall Street and the ultra-rich have been getting everything they want from the Trump Administration. Trump’s “Empire“ is really nothing but an assemblage of lowlife grifters and the aggrieved voters who follow him, fooled into thinking they are somehow fighting “the system.”

Trump is too much an erratic narcissist and too divisive a figure to win the wholehearted support of the many elites who run the country and U.S. “empire” abroad, even though he’s done everything he can to buy them off with tax breaks. He’s given free reign to Wall Street and the Fed “pros” to parcel out trillions of dollars of funny money to crony capitalists, and they obligingly throw a few bones to his personal cronies.

There is NO significant capitalist lobby for “America First” economic retrenchment, only a powerful state-capitalist-imperialist drive toward world empire. The drive to roll over economic and geo-political competitors is bipartisan, as is the elite consensus to remain policeman of the world at whatever cost. The “liberal globalists” and Republican “neocons” basically agree with Trump’s “America First” policies.

Given the internationalization of production, markets, and even corporate ownership, and Trump’s narcissistic need and opportunist desire to play to his ultra-nationalist, conservative, anti-“Big Federal Government” backward-looking base, inevitable demagogy reigns.

The “Empire” vs. “The Chosen One” would perhaps be a better ironical title.
