"It's bad to Hate?"

Hate from dictionary -
a. To feel hostility or animosity toward.
b. To detest

There are many things I hate, and don't feel stupid about any of them.

I hate/detest child molestors, I hate/detest rapists, I hate/destest any type of abuse/abuser, I hate/detest child pornograhpy, and the list goes on.

I would rather have an intense emotion like hatred for these things rather than try to "understand and comprehend what the other person is thinking". And, yes I will gladly shut my mind to "any alternate points of view" on these subjects and will continue "refuse to believe I might be wrong" regarding same.

However, Gabrielle, you are absolutely correct on one item above.....I will dislike anyone who thinks I am wrong to hate these things. :bangheads

I don't know about right or wrong but hatred will diminish ones ability to understand the enemy which is a vital part of defeating him.

Not at all. it sharpens the senses. It's like coke. Why are you getting all weird and libby?

Well, here is a thought for you. Everyone detests how terrorists are filled with hate. They grow with hate, and hate everything and everyone not in line with their point of view.
Some of you have espoused the same points of view. Does this make you terrorists? You certainly share their way of thinking.

Our reward for good behavior was privileges. We were allowed to go out on weekends. We were not given dad's credit card to go shopping with.
Our discipline for bad behavior was suspension of privileges -- we were not allowed to go out, talk on the phone or use the internet.
This made us responsible. I don't know about other people's kids. But we didn't have to literally be whipped into obeying our parents.

Hate is an EMOTION. Terrorism is defined by destructive ACTION against innocents. One may hate without being a terrorist. Can you understand the distinction between an emotion and an action?

Isn't that child abuse? It's neglect at the very least. Let's get child services on this and hope Gabby gets lost in the system. Call Florida. Get Jeb Bush on the phone!

I've never been as far right as you are dude.

It's just an emotion like any other natural normal and expected. Condoning hatred does not mean condoning all actions which stem from the emotion. You're more like me than you know. Don't you hate it when gabby acts like a fool? Seems like you were all bent out of shape. What was up with that? Raggin?

I'll buy that---Hate is an emotion. Isn't rational behavior defined as not letting emotion get the best of one's reason?

Make up your mind...you went on to say in many posts of yours how you rebelled...in middle school...after hormons kicked in...ya now love the hippy mentality of free love..you also said you were upset how your parents did not recognize birthdays with presents or a bleak Christmas...now you are condeming those who have prospered and give back to their kids that which they earned...gimmeee a break...you are a liberal fraud!

Maybe folks are assuming that the hate talk here is something that people actually condone acting on.

Actually I was thinking that. thinking maybe we were gonna get put on the Simone Wiesanthal list of hate sites or something. Then I figured we probably already were.

NOBODY HERE CONDONES ACTING ON HATRED BLINDLY, ok kikes?

The difference between my hatred and that of a "terrorist" is that I don't run out and indiscriminately kill those who I hate. The difference is in the ability to be civilized and allow the courts to handle it. I also don't let it consume me or dictate my way of life. I recognize that I hate these type of people, but I also recognize that it's not my personal agenda to eliminate them. It has to be a decision that society is willing to advocate and support.

So, you were bribed into behaving? I don't understand how giving children access to going out, the phone and the internet teaches responsibility. To me, it's like giving your children a toy for no apparent reason and then threatening to take it away if they misbehave. Why not give your children incentives for behaving and once they've earned something it's theirs to keep, if they can handle the responsibility that comes along with it. For example........earning the right to use the phone on a daily basis. Rather than giving unlimited access and taking it away if behavior doesn't meet the standard, why not teach your children that they can use the phone after they've done whatever is required to use it (but it has to be earned on a daily basis......say......10 minutes for cleaning the bathroom). I think this would teach responsibility without engendering an entitlement attitude.

Odd concept these days---you work for something--then you get it
