It's a Public School-Sponsored Baptism Party!

This is the real meaning of the First Amendment Clause of our United States Constitution, which reads:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;…”

Father of the United States Constitution, James Madison had this clause put into the Constitution, in order that the government would never again force citizens to attend a state-controlled church, such as the Anglican Church in Virginia had been. This is the true meaning of the phrase:

“Separation of the Church from interference by the State”

By design it's to keep the government from dictating a specific religion, it's not meant to keep religion out of the government. If that were the case then explain why the preambles of all 50 state constitutions references God as well as the Declaration of Independence (which contains four references to God). Also explain why almost every historical monument is engraved with scripture from Washington's monument ["Holiness to the Lord" (Exodus 28), "Search the Scriptures" (John 5:39), "The memory of the just is blessed" (Proverbs 10:7) -- and such invocations as, "May Heaven to this Union continue its Benefice."] to Moses and the Ten Commandments on the Supreme Court building.

Then explain "In God We Trust" which is printed on all U.S. currency and mentioned in the Pledge of Allegiance. Our rights come from God, not from the government!
Where the preamble declares, that coercion is a departure from the plan of the holy author of our religion, an amendment was proposed by inserting "Jesus Christ," so that it would read "A departure from the plan of Jesus Christ, the holy author of our religion;" the insertion was rejected by the great majority, in proof that they meant to comprehend, within the mantle of its protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mohammedan, the Hindoo and Infidel of every denomination.
-Thomas Jefferson, Autobiography, in reference to the Virginia Act for Religious Freedom

All 50 states preambles acknowledges God. The Declaration of Independence makes four references to God. Scripture is written on monuments ranging from Washington's monument to Lincoln's Memorial. The U.S. Supreme Court Building has a 10 Commandments Display over the front entrance. Open doors with God's Ten Commandments engraved on the doors. Then when sitting in court there is a Display of The 10 Commandments on the wall behind the Supreme Court Justices!

The U.S. Constitution honors the Christian sabbath, Article 1, Section 7, and Clause 2, which states in part “If any Bill shall not be returned by the President within ten Days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the Same shall be a Law,”.

The delegates signed the Constitution in the “Year of our Lord.” This is a direct reference to Christianity. This is found in Article 7 which in part follows:

“Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America the Twelfth In witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our Names, GO WASHINGTON--Presidt. and deputy from Virginia”

The Paris Peace Treaty was the document which formally ended the Revolution and granted the United States independence from Great Britain. In a real sense, the United States formally became a nation on September 3, 1783.

When the United States became a nation, it was done in the “name of the most holy and undivided Trinity.” The preamble to this Treaty states it is based upon the “Holy and undivided Trinity.” The concept of the holy Trinity is unique to Christianity. This statement means the United States was founded on the Christian faith.

“In the name of the most holy and undivided Trinity”

The Treaty then ends just like the Constitution with a statement it is being signed in the “Year of our Lord.”

“In witness whereof we the undersigned, their ministers plenipotentiary, have in their name and in virtue of our full powers, signed with our hands the present definitive treaty and caused the seals of our arms to be affixed thereto. Done at Paris, this third day of September in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-three”

Fact is our founding fathers recognized the Christian standard needed to be nurtured and protected in order for freedom to be maintained. They believed, correctly, that freedom, liberty and human rights come directly from God and none other.

What is amusing is when the left insists they are a fringe group of nutters, when they represent the majority of Americans. And when the left insists that because they are fringers, they must be silenced and controlled.

It sounds an awful-lot like some kind o' effort at Divine good-luck insurance......

"This would relieve us from the ignominy of heathenism. This would place us openly under the Divine protection we have personally claimed."

It appears we've (finally) MATURED beyond such superstitious-times....finally.
