What makes this more interesting is China in the past has not been know for supporting Muslims. So what is the motive for removing Israel from their maps?

And from its perspective , rightly so .

Removing Israel, or , effectively achieving this via proxies , is a very smart move .
It means that whatever plans it has to destroy the US are not hindered by having to watch Israel from behind its back , metaphorically.

A major difference is that China and Russia are very smart geo- strategically and geo-politically, whereas the US lags somewhat behind .
