I want a TV show involving spaceships, space travel, and space battles that is just as popular as The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. Is that too much to ask for?

I think it should be dark and gritty!

Wouldn't stuff like this be even more awesome with today's technology?

Too much CGI in its infancy.

The truth is, our fascination with space, which began in the 1950's and peaked in the 1980's, has gone out of style, just like martial arts movies. Hell, we let Bucky end the NASA space program with hardly a wimper.
