Is the Mainstream Media Controlled?

Americans apparently can't handle the truth.

You're right. While there is one source of news that is broadcast from here in the U.S. (and yeah..............just like the other two, they spend a lot of time on what they think is going to make them money, which is why I choose the shows I watch on it very carefully), I also like to bounce what I've heard against other news sources.

Even though it takes some effort, and I either have to (a) stay up until 11:00 pm to 12:00 am, or (b) watch from 5:00 am until 6:00 am, it's still worth it to watch the BBC.

It's also helpful to check other news sources that aren't American based if you want to find out what is happening in the rest of the world. The Internet is good for helping out with that.

Agreed.................American news is based way too much on what corporations want (as well as what they think they can sell you to watch).

The worst one? FAUX Nooze. Why? They only present about 60 percent fact.

The Christmas present lead in is just an example of lazy reporting/producing.

It can't be they all get the same script from headquarters in New York...:eusa_whistle:

The reason this happens is because they all sometimes subcontract news pieces from a company called "prep burger", but they are too lazy to change the wording to make it their own. Radio has the same problem, though its even more rampant there. That's why youll see stations across the country doing the same "war of the roses" bit, inserting the voice of their local DJ, combined with the audio of a paid actors voice who works for prep burger, which creates a fake back and forth conversation. Prep burger is designed to help out lazy news hosts with fluff news stories, and it helps lazy radio hosts with corny bits that are supposed to be shocking and/or funny, but they never are.

No conspiracy here. Just good old fashioned laziness.

Doesn't Sirius have a BBC channel? You may be able to just listen to the network.

The MSM is controlled by the same people who control the government.

It is corporate owned and does not publish anything that is in conflict with the politics of its owners.

exactly.the mainstream media doesnt investigate any real news.they are just a TOOL for the government.nothing else. matter of fact the CIA controls the media.congress did in investigation into their activties in the 70's and they discovered documents that they got agents in the media that work for them.

there is no requirement for accuracy in reporting.

Journalism ethics and standards

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

J
Journalism ethics and standards comprise principles of ethics and of good practice as applicable to the specific challenges faced by journalists. Historically and currently, this subset of media ethics is widely known to journalists as their professional "code of ethics" or the "canons of journalism".[1] The basic codes and canons commonly appear in statements drafted by both professional journalism associations and individual print, broadcast, and online news organizations.

While various existing codes have some differences, most share common elements including the principles of—truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness and public accountability—as these apply to the acquisition of newsworthy information and its subsequent dissemination to the public.[2][3][4][5]

Like many broader ethical systems, journalism ethics include the principle of "limitation of harm." This often involves the withholding of certain details from reports such as the names of minor children, crime victims' names or information not materially related to particular news reports release of which might, for example, harm someone's reputation.[6][7]

Some journalistic Codes of Ethics, notably the European ones,[8] also include a concern with discriminatory references in news based on race, religion, sexual orientation, and physical or mental disabilities.[9][10][11][12] The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe approved in 1993 Resolution 1003 on the Ethics of Journalism which recommends journalists to respect the presumption of innocence, in particular in cases that are still sub judice.[13]
