Is Rush Limbaugh Still Relevant?

By Dean Obeidallah, Special to CNN, Tue May 14, 2013

(Excerpt)
All you need to do is look at the bottom line to see that Limbaugh is in trouble. Limbaugh once raked in the big bucks for his radio syndicator, Cumulus. But last week, Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey made it clear those days are over. Dickey reported that Cumulus had lost millions of dollars in ad sales because many advertisers no longer want to be associated with Limbaugh...

Limbaugh will probably find a new home on a lesser terrestrial network or possibly SiriusXM radio. My hope is that Limbaugh ends up as the in-store deejay at a Virgin megastore in a strip mall in the middle of nowhere. But then again, why should those shoppers be subjected to Rush's rants?

Regardless where he turns up, Limbaugh will likely not be as relevant to the national media as he is now. All you have to do is look at the career of radio host Don Imus...

I still like Imus, he's come further than Limbaugh. Limbaugh tried tv once and failed miserably. Imus is a radio icon, love his style and voice plus he's very funny on his Fox Business News show. That's on for more than three hours a day.

Imus never even approached Rush in insight, intelligence, and relevancy. Or in power or $$.

Let's see how the argument works. CNN leans left and Rush leans right. Have a CNN employee give his opinion about Rush's relevance and throw it out to the low information blogs and see what you get.

Hey, yet another thread about Rush! He's going...going...

But never seems to be gone in spite of the many threads the lefty fools start that claim his demise is right around the corner. Or, maybe the next corner...or the next...or maybe the first one that comes up after the next couple of dozen threads all as inaccurate as the previous dozens?

Let's see. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome...Yep, fits 'em to a tee.

Substitute Obama for Rush and you've got what the wingnut right has been up to since Jan. '09. :cuckoo:

Used to watch him all the time on MSNBC. Watched the day of the big gaffe, laughed and said there's going to be shit about this.

Zonarius claims he listens to him EVERY DAY! Which is proof that he's irrelevant...or something.

Rush is no longer relevant no one listens to him even if he has the hightest rated show.

Do liberals believe what they say or is this the way they exercise their jaws?

He has the highest rated show...and apparently all of them listen to it.

And the beauty of it? The arrogant bastard got the ball rolling on his own demise when he revealed to the world what he pretty much thinks of all women. When he called a lady a slut.

The slut who tried to get the Catholic church to pay for her mounting birth control costs? Is that what the left is trying to use as their latest 1st Amendment assault? It's laughable

Limbaugh is loosing his listening audience, not because of anything he said, but because they're dieing off. Old, bitter, paranoid, racist, cheap, white dudes make up the core of his audience, thus the preparation H and bonner pill commercials.
