Is Obama's Success Good For Republicans?

That is, if America improves and prospers under Obama's Administration...is that a good thing for Republicans, whether they have little or all the control in Congress/Senate or not.

What happens to the Republicans if Obama really brings this country out of the crapper that Bush led it to?

There is no chance of that, so why even ask? Socialism has never worked, and it never will. Your question is like asking if you put a bullet in your brain and survive, is that good for gun sales?

Interesting little bit of subterfuge. We are asked if "Obama's successes" are good for republicans but after we open the dialog we find that there are no successes but only wishful thinking.
Do you mean like this "patriotic" wishful thinking?

Funny...so why aren't you more encouraging?

We don't "encourage" Obama for the same reason we don't encourage Charles Manson.

  1. Why would anyone encourage trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see?
  2. Why would they encourage the destruction of the best medical care in the world?
  3. Why would they encourage the jacking up the price of energy to 3 or 4 times its current price?

If Obama managed to transform himself and was reborn into a leader that both understands what needs done - and then does it....I would not only applaud him here and everywhere - but I would post a video in this thread showing me voting for him in 2012.

But in the real world...he will continue to do what he does...screw things up worse than Bush did.

Mostly agree.
I admire our President.
Comes from a single parent household. Mixed parents. Father a Kenyan. He works himself into a good university and does well. Becomes a lawyer. Works with the community. Marries a good woman and has nice kids. Good father and husband. Becomes Senator and then leader of the free world.
I like the guy.
But I disagree with his politics. I will not vote for him because of that.

That would spell disaster for the Republicans. Unfortunately for Obama, the Keynesian policies he's put his trust in are proven failures, so he's actually made it more difficult for the economy to improve. Furthermore, even if unemployment does recede and the economy picks up despite what Obama has done, the 'debt-genie' is out of the bottle and he'll still get hammered for allowing the debt to spiral out of control. It doesn't look good for Obama.

My father graduated from Cornell and my cousin went to Brown and another to Yale.
Believe me, you have to WORK to graduate those schools.
But I wouldn't know about working on an undergraduate degree.
I had tutors and a full ride.:lol::lol:

I still dont understand where the OP sees any "Success" in this presidency, unless of course by success he means the takeover of private industry and the forcing of social programs down Americas throats against our will, or maybe the trillions wasted for no reason other than to waste it and payoff campaign doners and friends. If this is what the OP gauges success off of, then I would say yes, it will benefit Republicans in 2012 and beyond.

Actually the OP is by Default admitting that so far Obama is not a success, and saying IF HE WERE TO BE, would it be good or Bad for Republicans.

Must be pretty bad when all you can do is sit around and hope your fearless leaders failed policies start working, or he has no chance of winning again.

The man said it himself. If he had not significantly improved the economy by his 3rd year in office, he would not have a second term.

He was not wrong.

I've been posting here long enough for everyone to know that I get all his quotes directly from his posted transcripts. All you have to do is put them in "" and google them. But since you are a CON$ervative you are too lazy to do anything for yourself.

There won't be enough brainless to re-elect Obummer.

Unfortunately, these idiots will try to elect Hellary.

Then, there will be a contest.

I wouldn't count on it, but obviously if O can get the employment picture looking better, and avoid crushing inflation at the same time?

He's got a job for the next four years.
Inflation is the least of his worries, he has massive "deflation" to deal with and a crushing national debt crisis. The next President will have to deal with it too. We have a lot of hard work ahead of us, and many people will be crushed financially.

Deflation? That's news to me. You got any proof that deflation is actually happening right now?

We are seeing what I call ‘domestic deflation' and ‘international inflation.' The products that are priced domestically, like real estate and much of what we buy in the grocery and department stores, are experiencing deflation from a lack of demand and credit. The products that are priced in US dollars internationally (gold, oil) are showing inflation because the money printing press is weakening the US dollar. This chart of US real estate values is a perfect illustration of deflation.

That's interesting Zander. I never really thought about it that way. That kind of deflation will indeed cripple many Americans.

The combo of international inflation and domestic deflation is about as toxic as it gets. We're going to have to really bite the bullet when that catches up to us.
