This is happening under Obama, so of the course the right says its not a good thing to end a war that was started over a lie.

Bush = going to war based on fear, lies and sheeple believing them
Obama = ending that war

America, who do you support? Military families and members, you want to be at war for no reason?

I'm no fan of Saddam. WMD was just an excuse for "regime change". If you recall, it was a "slam dunk" that Saddam had WMD, in fact the UN supported the action.

However, don't cloud the issue of withdrawing with "regime change". Next you'll want to whine about waterboarding terrorists...

If we are not wanted, let us go. We spent billions over there for them to be free but it wasn't our war in the first place. Our cause was with Afghanistan. We should be compensated for the lives that were lost, the training we gave and the infrastructure we built. That should have been negotiated long ago.

Those brave guys and gals deserve to be home for the holidays..and spend some well earned time with their families. And we can use them here. Lots of work needs doing.

It's time to let these Americans who want peace and family..have it.

Four-thousand plus dead, 30,000+ wounded, a trillion dollars pissed away, and no oil.

What a fucking fiasco thanks to Cheney and his loyal sidekick Lil' Bush.

Yes, the UN supported the war. Its Secreatary General even declared it illegal.

Read about the UN resolutions, and if Saddam didn't do this or didn't do that, then the previously approved UN resolutions were enforced, by a US led coalition of 37 nations!!
Post-Iraq, Do Americans Really Care About the United Nations?

I'm no fan of Saddam or his dead larvae. AMF.

It's a good thing. In addition it's time to get out of afghanistan too and for that matter get the hell out of everywhere,, and in addition get the hell out of the business of sending welfare checks to foreign nations, we gotta nough gimmie gimmie people in
America.

If there is anyone to be compensated, it's the refugees and the families of the dead on the Iraqi side. That won't happen in this current world, but just like Obama said, history will judge this whole Iraq adventure. US's credibility has been totally destroyed given the grotesque lies and the proven methods of torture.
This war was not a just war, if there even exists such thing. It was started intentionally with lies, without there being a necessity for an aggressive act against Iraq.

You seem to be forgetting that the "Butcher of Baghdad" killed more Iraqis than the wars did.
How Many People Has Saddam Hussein Killed?

You also forget that Saddam's regime loved to do real torture, including:
cutting off limbs, beating feet with pipes, hanging from meat hooks, electrocutions, burying alive, throwing from roofs, killing Kurds with mustard gas, painting with acid, etc.
You can argue it wasn't a "just war", but IMHO the regime change was a very good thing.

Iraq will become a satellite of Iran. The Shiites and Sunnis will be bombing one another. We should have left long ago. War with Iran is coming close and we will need every fighter we can get.

Agree 100 percent. No more nation building or worthless wars!!!

Sorry, we simply can't afford it. Gates advises to forget about it...
Gates's warning: Avoid land war in Asia, Middle East, and Africa - CSMonitor.com

We don't care about North Korea...or Iran...maybe the CIA can do a few covert ops, but the big land wars are stupid, and we really can't afford it.

I voted for Obama expecting that he would continue the occupation in Afghanistan, since that's what he said he'd do and I believed it was a good thing. No longer really... I think we should pull out of Afghanistan just like we will be Iraq. and I don't even think we should keep any kind of presence there.

If we haven't gotten anywhere in 10 years, what makes people think another 10 will accomplish anything.

All you write is just relativisation of 2002-03 period.
It just shows, that Americans are still not able to reprocess what has happened.
You just have to look around and even in this thread there are some surreal demands that ask for US compensation from Iraq.

Except Israel right? Your fellow conservatives in arms are so quick with the anti-semite card on that one.
