IRS Cleared of All Charges So What Does The GOP Do? Impeach Of Course

Democrats are big on deleting evidence of their moral and legal corruptions and voting for candidates that are equally corrupt enough to need to...

Ha Ha, like 22 million email?

From your OP...

"The GOP's ire stems mainly from the deletion of thousands of emails belonging to Lois Lerner, the former IRS official at the center of allegations that the agency targeted tea party groups applying for non-profit status."

You really should read your own OP's before posting, I had judged you worthy of interest, it's beginning to look like I was wrong...oh well ...:9:

I read the article and that's exactly why I created this thread. The GOP's ire is misplaced and wrong. A two year investigation cleared the IRS of wrongdoing but Republicans have trouble accepting fully formed investigative decisions. Now they select a man for punishment who wasn't even a part of the investigation. You people are treading on irrelevancy.

Sorry Bubb, your hate has swallowed your common sense...

So now you need to deflect? What did I say that was incorrect and hateful?

At this point you've become a waste of time, no problem, pretty used of it around here and you're hardly alone..

Moving on, enjoy your time at the USMB.

Aha, when things get tough the tough get moving.

Rebubbaklans have really drank the Kool-Aid this time. Impeaching the IRS Commissioner who wasn't even in office during the investigation to restore confidence in the IRS, who was cleared by the FBI and the DOJ, is the height of hilarity from a party that has gotten progressively unhinged since 2014.

"Evidently IRS Commissioner John Koskinen is to be the sacrificial lamb Republicans take hostage to atone for the sin of being completely wrong about the so-called "targeting scandal."

Jason Chaffetz just announced -- to great sound and fury -- that his committee filed four articles of impeachment against an IRS commissioner who was not commissioner at the time the so-called "scandal" occurred.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, announced at a Monday press conference that his committee has asked the President to remove Koskinen from office. He accused the IRS commissioner of misleading Congress and failing to cooperate with the congressional investigation into the IRS's alleged targeting of conservative groups under the tenure of Koskinen's predecessor, Steven Miller.

"Mr. Koskinen failed to testify truthfully. The statements that he made to Congress were false," Chaffetz said Monday. "It is imperative that this committee pursue all constitutional remedies. That may include contempt and it even may include impeachment of Mr. Koskinen."

In a 29-page letter to Obama that included transcripts of Koskinen and other IRS officials' hearings with his committee, Chaffetz wrote that Koskinen has "obstructed" Congressional investigations into the IRS.

"His obstruction takes the form of failure to comply with a congressional subpoena, failure to testify truthfully, and failure to preserve and produce up to 24,000 emails relevant to the investigation," Chaffetz wrote to Obama.

The call from the top House Republican comes after Koskinen has sparred with GOP lawmakers in repeated congressional hearings -- notably during a hearing last summer, when Koskinen sniped back at the lawmakers that he was not there "to play games" and insisting he never promised emails that had previously been deleted, though he would be happy to know "if you have a magical way for me to do that."

The GOP's ire stems mainly from the deletion of thousands of emails belonging to Lois Lerner, the former IRS official at the center of allegations that the agency targeted tea party groups applying for non-profit status." After Lois Lerner Cleared, Republicans Move To Impeach IRS Commissioner (Updated)

He isn't being impeached for doing the scandal, Holmes. You need to stop doing your research on left wing blogs. He is being impeached for covering it up. Ask Nixon how that went for him...

Perjury and obstruction of justice....contempt of Congress.

They're all felonies last time I looked.

If the media wasn't biased, half the Obama Administration would be behind bars now.

He's being impeached for ignoring subpoenas, which resulted in the destruction of evidence.

He's not being impeached, ya knutbag.
Parsing words isn't going to win this one for you.
Language matters.

He isn't being impeached.

And I'll go one more -- and say he won't be either.

It's going to the Judiciary Committee right now. IF - if it makes it out of there, it will go to the floor. IF it gets a majority vote, and I highly doubt it, what you have is an indictment.

The Senate *will not* remove him. Bank on it.

But it most likely will not go anywhere.

This is for show by a bunch of toddlers with loaded diapers.

And you wonder why there are so many mass-shootings going on these days.

So impeaching someone who wasn't even at the IRS when all that went down is the solution?

The IRS investigation was another $20 million down the drain from useless unproductive investigations. What a complete waste of the people's money.

"An inspector general’s probe of the missing emails involving former Internal Revenue Service executive Lois Lerner “provided no evidence that the IRS employees involved intended to destroy data on the tapes or hard drives in order to keep this information from Congress,” the Justice Department or the inspector general’s staff, the IG said.

Nor did it uncover any evidence “that any IRS employees had been directed to destroy or hide information,” according to a new technical report from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration." IRS Did Not Willfully Destroy or Hide Lerner Emails, Watchdog Finds

Yet when Democrats investigate Republicans you're all for it and you don't blink when Obama spends trillions, like on his government run healthcare scheme.

As i said, you're just fighting for the steering wheel. I actually want to cut government spending ... a lot. You just want to control it. Entirely different things

Democrat led investigations have actually uncovered real criminal acts that resulted in convictions. The ACA if properly administered, will result in a savings and long term benefits, we can argue the efficacy of that if you like. We only want to control it since we run it better when we do as abundantly evident.
