I have heard and seen tons of articles over the war in Iraq, and not one of them is worth a hill of beans. Noone gets it right or they use only half truths to further their agenda.

lets start from the begining shall we? We went to war the first time to Iraq in 91 because of the Kuwait invasion, Kuwait has alot of oil and resources that the Iraqis were going to exploit, Saudi was concerned about the proximity to Iraq and the use of chemical weapons in the past and the size of the army, Saudi requested help from the UN, OK we went to war and forced Saddam out of kuwait and went to the border of baghdad, we withdrew to appease the UN and this was the strat, to cause a revolt in Iraq to overthrow Saudam by their own people. welcome to 93 the start of Operation southern Watch and Operation Northern Watch, One based in Saudi and the other in Turkey to enforce the No-fly zones in Iraq and to monitor the sanctions the UN put in place. now for 3 years Saddam rattled his saber and rattled it kicking weapons inspectors out and targeting coalition Airplanes all against the UN sactions and In theUN mandated that the Use of force was authorized if Iraq did not comply.

Now comes 96 And a plan was put in motion called Food for Oil by then President Clinton and the UN heads. All seemed well exept that Saddam still rattled his saber and launched missiles at coalition aircraft and his power was still strong for some reason in Iraq which was a mystery on how he was able to maintain his power/position. For years this went on and the UN turned a blind eye to it all the time, sending letters requesting inspectors be put back in place.

now in 2003 the new war began, it was interesting that the UN was against this invasion but then again it was uncovered that the Food for Oil Scam was all about oil and no food. Saddam had accumilated a vast amount of wealth because the UN was bidding oil at $5 to $10 dollars a barrel of oil to countries that got the contract, no food or medicine was getting there, this was all about Oil and money, interestingly enough it was all on the backs of the US Soldiers that this scam was done, Russia, China, France, Germany, Spain, hell even australia was in on this scam they made billions and saddam made billions, this was the real reason that they doid not want us to invade all due to their piggy banks and corruption at the highest levels. The UN made out like bandits and hell they were bandits. So the UN used the US soldiers to finance this massive corruption that countries, some of the countries supposidly our friends, financed. If we were to have left Iraq completely we would be back their in less then 10 years like before and redo this all over again, witrh even less nations supporting us, the time was ripe for us to invade we were in place, saudi was feeling pressure to kick us out of their so we would lose that foot hold as well. Strategically the best option was to clean house in Iraq make it stable and put a perm base of operations there to moniter Iran and the Mid east arena. It was the best option to do, I do think Bush and mostly Rumsfeld screwed it up, they should had done as General Patton did in WWII, they did not listen to history and bent to political pressure of appeasment. But as for going in there was no option, like it or not Bush had that Scam uncovered in the UN but unfortunatly no one will see any jail time over it and the UN continues to monoplize the free world, that is our biggest problem is the UN.

there are tihngs that I missed that went on but I will add those to further posts
