I watched a show on TV about prisons. Brought back a lot of memories, I worked Max. for a few years as a kid.
At any rate, the State of Virginia hung 30 on the guy for two armed robberies. You know, that's where you steal stuff with a show of force, which is usually a gun. The inmate isn't the most intelligent human. Likely without realizing it, in a simple sentence explained why California has "progress"ively become the shit-hole it is today:
"If I knew I'd get 30 years I wouldn't have done it. I'm from California, where the most I'd have got was eight".
