UAE is my favorite country in the middle east. Anyway, it seems like India and UAE are moving towards trading in their own currencies.

The United Arab Emirates and India stressed the importance of sharing views on regional and international issues of interest while the two discussed the latest developments. Both sides agreed to strengthen counterterrorism efforts and the condemnation of extremism and terrorism in all its forms.

UAE FM Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Smt. Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister of the Republic of India, co-chaired the Ministerial Meeting of the 12th session of the UAE-India Joint Commission Meeting, JCM, held on 3rd and 4th December, 2018 in Abu Dhabi.

At the meeting, both sides reviewed the entire scope of bilateral ties and took stock of the developments in the region.

The two Foreign Ministers signed the Minutes of the 12th session of the UAE-India Joint Commission Meeting and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for Development Cooperation in Africa.

They also attended an agreement on India Rupee / UAE Dirham Currency Swap between the UAE Central Bank and the Indian Reserve Bank.

On the sidelines of the JCM, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Smt. Sushma Swaraj attended the unveiling of the plans for the Zayed-Gandhi Digital Exhibition accompanied by Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi.

Scheduled to open its doors to the public in March 2019, the exhibition is organised by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in cooperation with the Mahatma Gandhi Digital Museums and is the first joint digital between the UAE and India.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed said that the Zayed-Gandhi Digital Exhibition would contribute to conveying the philosophy of the two world leaders to the future generations, enabling them to learn about their lives, achievements and deeds.

They explored prospects for further cooperation between the UAE and India, building on the strong existing ties between the two countries.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ninth edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit that drew the participation of a high-level UAE delegation, led by Al Zeyoudi.

During his keynote address at the summit's inauguration ceremony, Al Zeyoudi said: "The UAE and India enjoy long-standing and cordial relations across multiple fronts. Backed by the political and people-to-people interactions, bilateral trade continued to soar despite global headwinds."
