The Department of Energy gives grants to companies that produce clean energy. Recently the department gave nearly $1 million in grant funds to a battery company on the very day the company filed for bankruptcy. And where do the funds for the grant come? Your taxes.

The Heritage Foundation’s Lachlan Markay, investigative reporter for Heritage’s Center for Media and Public Policy, explains this grievous waste of taxpayer dollars was given to the battery making company, A123 Systems Inc.

The DOE agreed to give the company a $249 million clean energy grant, of which, as Lachlan explains: “As of November 14, $115.8 million of the A123’s grant remained outstanding.”

To say this is an outrage would be an understatement. And you won't hear one liberal denounce this because they feel they have to defend the party at all cost, even if the party pushes the entire nation over the cliff.

The government handing it out. The fact that you would even pose that question speaks volumes. They have a legal responsibility to be good stewards of our money. Furthermore, they have a legal responsibility to uphold the Constitution they swore an oath to uphold. They are not empowered in any capacity to hand out tax payer dollars to private companies.

You think the Germans and the Japanese and the Chinese aren't investing in these kinds of projects, and some of them don't fail?

Fact is, petroleum is a finite resource. We have to find alternatives to it. So this kind of investment is prudent.

If we could change AMerica from an energy importer to an energy exporter, we'd solve a lot of our problems.

Too bad the oil companies lead stupid people like you around by the nose.

These Clowns spend our taxdollars like the dollars grow on a tree. They don't care because they are taken care of for life at our expense. Hell. They don't pay into SS and their HC is taxpayer funded. They are set for life at our expense.

They are not good custodians of our hard earned tax dollars.

We have billions of barrels of oil in Alaska and billions of liters of Natural Gas. Exporting is far superior to importing. Of course none of the Clowns living their cushy lives at our expense are going to do anything about that. After all. They are set for life.

There isn't enough oil in Alaska to change world demand all that much...

Again- FINITE. They aren't making any more. Eventually, there will be the point where the last drop of petroleum is used up.
