Please tell me again how it is conservatives and Republicans that are intruding into people's personal lives.

As a post script fireplaces themselves will be banned in new home construction because of this.

I'm sure the argument for the ban would be that what you are doing in the privacy of you own home impairs the health of others. I guess smoking anything (except pot) or driving an internal combustion engine is next.

People are generally stupid enough to let their government get away with this bullshit, Bonnie... :(

That's what's most troubling. But mostly I think the ones who would be affected by something like this are just so busy working and not paying attention till it's too late.

I wouldn't read anything that purported to express Gores' views on anything but I do know how short sighted and fanstastical these band-aid "solutions" are.

Never-as long as people refuse to think about the consequences of what they say and do and that defines liberals to a T.

The real problem here is fuel costs. People wouldn't be using wood burning stoves or fireplaces as much if it cost less to heat their house otherwise.

I have used a wood burning stove to heat a house it caused alot of work. You either have to buy wood or go out and cut it your self, split it, stack it, bring it into the house everyday, keep the fire stoked, clean the out the ashes everyweek. Believe me I much prefer to use gas heat or some other source than wood burning. But I would use a fireplace if it were more cost effective and would not appreciate the government telling me to do otherwise.
