I'm Voting for Bernie, SRSLY

Hillary: Hello campaign headquarters? Say we have another Bernie voter can you fill out a couple extra ballots and drop them in the box to cancel out her vote, thanks.

I see Dead People.

The polls still show Sanders with a substantial lead over Trump nationally. Will that affect the Democratic convention and those super delegates? Hard to say.

No, it's easy to say.

Sanders has been given a free pass from criticism by Republicans, because they want to hurt Clinton. He's been given a free pass from Clinton Democrats, because they know Clinton has it locked up, and they don't want to anger Sanders supporters. Were Sanders to take it from all sides, as has been the case with Clinton, he'd be doing far worse in the polls. The supers understand that.

So tell me. Why did the supers all switch from Hilllary to Obama in the closing months of the 2008 campaign? And what makes you think they wouldn't do so again if they perceived that Sanders was more universally appealing than Hillary is?

In the immortal words of Joe Biden, cuz:

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."

Okay that was good. I wish the system would allow me to give it a thanks, agree, and informative along with the funny. :)

And don't forget that if somebody doesn't get the required number of electoral college votes, the House will choose who the next President will be.

The Senate will vote to see who the Vice President will be. And if they tie, Joe Biden will cast the deciding vote.

Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy doesn't it?

The jokes for this election cycle basically write themselves. You just can't make up this stuff...it's Comedy Gold I tell ya!

As more than a few USMB members should understand, I am not a leftwing kinda gal. If I were to pick a label, it would be Liberatarian...

BUT....

As an artifact of my clueless youth (consistent with the concept that a Conservative is a Liberal who now has a job and pays taxes), I am still a registered Democrat. California being a de facto One Party State, it has never been worthwhile to change my registration. My inertia has finally paid off!

As a protest vote to show my scorn for All Things Clinton, I'm voting for Bernie in the Primary.

Yes, I'm feelin' the Bern.

:)

Bo, my mom and dad were both Republicans but my mom was registered Dem so she could vote for the 'easier to beat' Dem candidate in the primaries.

If the two choices were to be Sanders and (presumably) Trump ... don't know if there even IS an 'easier to beat' candidate. Interesting times indeed.

There's a BERNIE campaign office next to one of my favorite spots in Rockridge in Oaklandtown. I am sorely tempted to get a t-shirt. Sorely sorely sorely tempted! If I find a $20 bill on the sidewalk, I'll take it as a Sign From On High to do it!

You should steal the shirt. Bernie is a socialist, he'd understand.

Bernie is a DREAM! He'd freak out so many people that Trump would win in a landslide.

That is the question. But my guesstimate is that more voters would turn out for Trump than for Bernie. Beyond college campuses, there just isn't that much excitement for The Bern.

YOU ARE TRYING TOO HARD

Why do you always try to come-off like Caligrl?

Why are you such a fat cow?
I was asking why all the 25 cent words all the time? You didn't go to Andover and it makes you sound ridiculous. On second thought- keep it up

It's rather telling that you interpret a vocabulary of actual words to be ridiculous. So, just go back to your LOLZ and STFU. That's your speed, dearie.

All the polls would argue with you about that--all show Bernie still polling ahead of Trump by a substantial margin. That's what make me cautious about saying absolutely that Hillary will be the nominee. But Kasich beating Hillary didn't phase the voters and the polls have been pretty erratic and flat out wrong quite a bit in this campaign too.

It has been fascinating to watch.

It is quite interesting. One thing to note is that the GOP is coalescing support for Trump. The preference cascade indicates that he'll quite handily sew up the nomination. Bernie is going to take his battle to the convention, where the scene is going to be very ugly. 1968 all over again, without TRIGGER WARNINGS or Safe Spaces.

you should really stick to choosing the person you will vote for in the fall.

the idea of you being a democrat is laughable.

and your idea that a "conservative" is a liberal who got a job and pays taxes is imbecilic. I'm pretty sure I pay a lot more in taxes than you do. I'm also pretty sure that the raging bigotry among rightwingnuts has absolutely nothing to do with their status as wage earners.
She's living in her self-imposed, Randian bubble :tinfoil: 'twas ever thus.

so she'll vote for the socialist because she thinks drumpf can beat him more easily.

I didn't read it that way. She'll vote for the socialist because the more votes he gets, the less viable she looks.

If we go strictly by the polls, the margin between Hilllary and Trump is a statistical dead heat at this point--a bit less so favoring Hillary in the battleground states though those margins have narrowed significantly.

The polls still show Sanders with a substantial lead over Trump nationally. Will that affect the Democratic convention and those super delegates? Hard to say.
IOW, will the Democrats rather lose with Hillary or win with Bernie.

I think they would rather lose than run with Bernie.

You may be right, but the party is overwhelmingly controlled by ideological fanatics. So when the chips are down and they know that the only way they can retain the White House and/or regain control of the House and Senate, is to get behind Bernie. . .I think we have to leave at least a little wiggle room there.

Of course I have had a question in the back of my mind. Could Ron Paul have beaten Obama if the Repubs got behind him
