I'm Starting To Become Of The Mind That ALL USMB RWers Aren't That Bad

Everyone one of us on both sides have said things we shouldn't have....i've said some pretty stupid things at times, then i think of it later and usually will apologize for it (like i did with California Girl in another thread). There's times i read something that, to me, is so obsurd that i "type" before i think! :) None of us are going to agree all the time, or even half of the time, but both sides have some very good arguements for each side.

It's very hard for me to understand the left when some say Obama has done such a great job. And yes, i'll admit, it's not ALL his fault. Just like it isn't ALL Bush's fault either, but many won't admit to that. Right now i'm pissed at both sides....why can't they agree on something? What games are they playing with us?

I argue against the OWS protestors...NOT because i think they don't have the right to do this, but because now there are so many "infiltrators" in their bunch that are making them ALL look bad, they need to temporarily stop the protests, get the bums out of their midst and then put it together again and be more organized. I'm sure there are some that really do know why they're there, but with all the freeloaders that have joined them, nobody can tell the difference and it just all looks bad. Obama said he understands why they're doing this, but he's said NOTHING else about it since then and the wacko's that have joined the protest take it as they can do whatever they want now because Obama says it's ok! I don't see this having a good ending for anyone.

My other big problem is with BOTH the left and right when anyone posts links to prove a point. Just because it's a left or right MSM site, someone (and i've done it too!) will not read the link because "it's a right hack site" or "it's a left hack site" and we just aren't going to believe it! Do ALL media sites lie over EVERYTHING? I don't think so....we need to start using our brains and not just our emotions.

Ok..rant over...and i just want to say, even though i know you weren't talking to me either Marc, thank you for what you said. I agree...both the right and left have their "hacks", and if i've ever come across as one i apologize for any time i "typed" before thinking :)

There are a lot of really terrific righties buried in there amongst the hacks and sockpuppets.

I always knew there were one or two peppered in-between the bunch.

However, what inspired this thread is a seeming SURGE of them, I mean, members that I've been at odds with repping me for something I totally did not expect, then us having private messages further discussing it.

I'm shocked...shocked!! (No sarcasm)

I think it's really cool of you to post what you did. And I know what you mean. I have found that it is a sense of humor that has endeared me to some of the righties. I think humor always does the trick, for me at least. Once somebody makes me laugh I tend to see them differently. :)
There are a couple of Uber RW posters that I've almost never get mad at because their posts are so funny.

I also really get kicks out of some of the insults some of them sling. I give 'em props, in my head of course, when they let out a good insult. I'm often laughing to myself almost pissing myself. Even if I'm the target of the insult, when a good one has been lobbed.

It's a personal thing, I'm a former class clown and was known for insulting people and/or the ability to insult anyone. hehehe :)

I like when they refer to the OWS as the "the sh!tters" and even when they post that pic of that random NYC bum rubbing up his BUTT-OCKS up against the cop car. I laugh EVERY TIME I see it. Every. single. time. LOL  Too funny.

Of course I don't agree with it, but that is HELLA funny. There's one RWer that's always insulting the LW, but he does it in such a way that's so consistenly funny. I think I repped him even for doing it, I had to give him props for being so hilarious. I try not to encourage them though.

:D

I object...everything that's said to CaliforniaGirl is well-deserved. EVERYTHING.

:) Well...what i said wasn't political, it was in the religion section and what i said was completely wrong and not how i would normally react to something when it comes to religion. Having a bad day isn't an excuse for it...and i felt guilty afterwards! So i did what i thought was right. There's only a couple people on here that i can actually say i can't stand to read their posts, so i just usually skip over them.

Yeah, yeah, sure thing ya gay, anti-constitution, socialist, freedom hatin', muslim lovin', tree huggin' moonbat................
(Did I forget any adjectives?) :eusa_eh:

In the last couple of months I've been getting quite a number of reps from members that I've almost always been at odds with ideologicially, politically and/or otherwise. Had more than a few personal exchanges via PMs on issues we've found agreement or mutual respect on. I'm surprised by every one. Even more shocking is that I've even had agreements with some of the ones that are labelled racist radical RWers, even by myself in the past.

I have to say, it's softening me on you guys. I guess that's a good thing. I don't find pleasure in having to debunk and/or riducule my opposition all the time. Well...lemme adjust that, I PREFER NOT to have to do that, I do enjoy it while I'm doing it though (hehehe :D). However, I prefer NOT to have to do that. I prefer to have rationale debate where we can exchange our ideas, opinions, based on facts that we all recognize to be...facts.

I'm starting to see signs of this more and more, despite the political climate. Which tells me there's glimmer of hope. I won't name names, I'm sure that might make them lose points with the other rabid USMB RWers, like CalifnornaiGirl (yeah, I'll name her) but I had to post that I'm experiencing a change in the overall climate, which is uplifting...IMO.

I'm finding myself taking stock of the USMB RWers and looking at them differently. I hope they're doing to same.

You should name names, so people can appreciate, your self-righteous, self-important, back-handed-compliments.

Its is good that your're starting to open your eyes, as to how profoundly biased you have been, but don't act like the hole world is changing because you are (you're not that important), and if you are really learning from people you had opposed, maybe than you should show a bit more humility.

And, as there is nothing to worry about from that bill, you are still showing all of us that you are a moron.

Under Bush the national do not call list was imposed on businesses, and it's been very bad for the economy. We need legislation that is less restrictive on businesses. The government has been killing businesses in the name of consumer rights, and when consumers really need protection, government is asleep at the wheel.

Obviously people wanted it and opted to include their names on the list or it wouldn't even be an issue. Don't call me with advertising on my cell phone unless you plan to pay my cell phone bill, it's minutes you're charged on whether the call goes in or out.

I've been guilty of being very rigid and closed-minded in the past. But i'm trying to fix that. Message Boards tend to bring out the worst in us. Most of us get so fixated on proving ourselves right that we feel we must ridicule and belittle others to accomplish that. It's a weakness in human nature and the nature of the beast as far as Message Boards go. All you can do is work on it and try not to fall into that trap too often. Most people are good. I truly believe that. I think it's best to start from there. But i know that's very difficult. Anyway, good post. Keep em coming.

What I like about your posts is that you are true to Paul. I find it funny, and a bit kooky but I respect it.

perfect example of a back-handed-compliment.

Marc, I find everything you say to be dis-indigenous and obtuse.

So every bill it's majority rules? The national do not call list bill hurt business. If people not not want to be called by a business, than when that business calls, they should instruct that business to put them on the businesses do not call list.

Many businesses are predicated on being able to call consumers, and we need to jump start those businesses, not place restrictions on them.

You kind of have a point with the argument that some cell phone customers get charged for an incoming call, but most don't, and if you're one that does, you can simply register on the national do not call list, and no one can call your number. The people can protect their consumer rights themselves, without government taking away liberty from people in business.
