Cain was successful at Coca Cola...at Burger King...at Godfather's Pizza. His choice of getting into public service after a long career in the private sector is admirable. It's a stark change from a man who's made his money from politics.

My "position" is that the Democrats elected someone based on who they appeared to be rather than who they actually were. Barack Obama is struggling so much because he has no executive experience and almost no legislative experience. He gives nice speeches. Herman Cain on the other hand has a track record for taking troubled organizations and turning them around. It's my "position" that the US is a troubled organization and that we need someone as President with the necessary job skills to deal with that.

Either that...or we can do another 4 years of Obama pointing fingers while he continues to fail to lead.

Most Senators make lousy Presidents BECAUSE the job of Senator doesn't require making or balancing a budget. That's why we have far more successful Presidents that were Governors than we do who were Senators.

I hope you're right about that. But I find the very presence in the contest and the (supposed) popularity of Herman Cain somewhat intimidating. Are that many Americans really this stupid? If so that's something to fear. But if Cain is the creation of Koch influence over the media and the polling agents that is even worse.

But it would be a brave and honorable thing for the GOP to do: nominate a ‘true’ conservative rather than play it safe with Romney.

Who might you have in mind? Are there any real conservatives left?

Because of Obama's timidity and his obvious fealty to Wall Street I would like the DNC to put up someone like Eliot Spitzer, Dennis Kucinich, Ralph Nader or Bernie Sanders in place of Obama. Because we need someone who would take aggressive action against the criminals who have looted the Treasury and sabotaged the middle class.

It's not too late to appoint special prosecutors to investigate and indict the Bush conspirators and thus impose the deterrent needed to discourage repetition of the same kind of brazen criminality in high-level government. Obama's failure to do this makes him unworthy of a second term.
