Illegal Breaks Both Legs

Illegal border-crosser breaks both legs after fall from top of wall, Border Patrol says

A man trying to enter the U.S. illegally broke both of his legs and suffered a back injury Sunday after falling 30 feet from the top of a U.S.-Mexico border wall in California, federal Border Patrol officials said.

The injured man was discovered behind an outlet mall around 9 p.m., a Border Patrol news release said. Paramedics arriving at the scene determined the man had suffered bilateral femur fractures to both legs as well as an unspecified back injury, the release said.

Now the US taxpayer is on the hook for all of his expenses!
What's your point exactly...? Have the wall but put pillows on the US side? Have the wall but put spikes on the US side? Don't have the wall at all and destroy the job potential of every working class American seeking more than $5 / hr.?
Have the wall. Place an alligator filled moat at the bottom!

Yeah a moat sounds good. Hell shoot them as they come across. They will get the message. Oh yeah and throw that illegal back over the wall.

Crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor. Summary execution without arrest or trial sounds......excessive.

Crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor.

We should change it to a felony.

Maybe. But execution for a misdemeanor seems.......a tad disproportionate.

Yup and ship them all back to Mexico.

Congress needs to revisit this silliness and make it a criminal offense!

So what are you saying? Build the wall 100 feet high?

Kinda hard to do if we are holding them for years on felony convictions. Prison is expensive.

Yes it is. If they hadn't been crossing the border illegally and committing crimes they wouldn't be in a US jail.

Yeah, but making a misdemenor a felony is accompanied by a longer prison sentence. Which means more jail....more expense....and a longer wait until they can actually be deported.

Maybe just deporting them would be the best approach. Its certainly *far* less expensive than the trial, appeals, multi-year incarceration and THEN deportation.

I couldn't agree more. If they build the wall we won't have illegals coming into our country. The wall would do away with a lot.

Then you oppose Trump's 'zero tolerance' policy? As he insists that they be prosecuted and imprisoned (at tremendous expense) rather than simply deported.

And of course the wall won't do away with illegal immigration. It will make it more expensive. Which will require folks that successful cross to stay longer to make the money necessary to pay for the trip.

Convict them, ship them home. We could do it in days.
If we catch them again, then we put them in prison.

Execution for a felony.

Still seems disproportionate. D'Souza for example was convicted of a felony. And they didn't execute him.

And killing folks at the border without trial or conviction doesn't seem terribly constitutional either.

Okay. So?

D'Souza for example was convicted of a felony. And they didn't execute him.

Not for all felonies, just add it for felony invasion.

And killing folks at the border without trial or conviction doesn't seem terribly constitutional either.

What does the Constitution say about invasion?

Deportation is useless the asswarps keep coming back. Build a wall.

Zero Tolerance requires full prosecution and sentences in jail for any offense. And criminal trials take time and are very different that administrative justices in the immigration system. Criminal trials require judges to follow the constitution. Administrative justices must follow the mandates of the Justice Department.

More expense, more time, child separation, multiple branches of the government, cross departmental coordination, all sorts of problems.

Its why virtually every administration before Trump avoided it.

Where did Trump say that these currently detained illegal aliens should be prosecuted and jailed?
Holding them until their "asylum" claims can be examined is not holding them for prosecution, AFAIK.
