If Your Not Giddy Over Romney,Will You Settle For A Romney/McDonnell or Ryan Ticket ?

Polls mean nothing at this stage of the game comparing Obama to Republicans.
Gas goes up around October and Obama's #s go down
Gas goes down and his #s go up.
Same with many other factors such as the war, etc.

But it seems that your scenarios almost always have to be something bad happening to Obama, they never seem to involved the Dog-Torturer's ability to impress anyone.

Since unemployment is going down, you all can't talk about that so much, so you think gas prices are the issue.

Here's the thing. Romney won't win because he isn't a unifying figure even for Republicans. Usually, the only way to dislodge an incumbant is to have a unified party combined with a divided base for the President. This is what happened in 1992 and 1980.

He has nowhere near the skill of a Reagan or a Clinton. While these two were silver tongued devils, Romney is more along the lines of weird Mormon Robot who occassional has his programming miss a beat, when he says things like "I like be able to fire people" "the trees are the right height" and "exterminate all humans!"

(okay, I made that last one up.)

He does not need the skill of a Reagan or a Clinton.
He has more skill than Obama with his hands tied and eyes blindfolded.
Obama has to go as he knows nothing about the free market, man never held a real job in his life.
Get in the real world.

That doesn't make any sense.

If a VP choice can hurt than logically it can also help.

Not really.

It can hurt because the thought of X being a heartbeat away is frightening.

It doesn't help because even a really qualified person usually has no real role. As John Nance Garner once said, "The vice Presidency isn't worth a bucket of warm spit."

Two points. He really said "Warm" piss. And most people forget he was FDR's first Vice president.

Similarly, it can help if a competent VP is chosen as the VP is always just a heartbeat away.

Not really. A Vice President is like insurance. You are insuring against the worst scenario, but unless you need to cash in that insurance, it's kind of a bother.

Ultimately, it's still about the guy at the top of the ticket. If he makes a bad choice (Palin, Quayle) it's just a bad reflection on him.

Yawn... You guys aren't going to win with "the Guy Who Lays You Off".

the one good effect of the Wall Street Meltdown of 2008 is that it put an end once and for all of this "Master of the Universe" crap of brilliant managers and investors.

We've only had two "businessman-Presidents".

George W. Bush and Herbert Hoover.

Laying employees off is the best thing a leader does with an over employed, under skilled company.
Bloated employee staffs and their luxury benefit packages need to go.
Same with the Federal work force.
Get over it Joe. That Mexican man with a 5th grade education can do the same job many a union worker does for half the price and does it better.
As soon as our workers educate and train themselves for WHAT THE MARKET DEMANDS the sooner we will be back to prosperity.
Wake up Joe. There is a serious shortage of skilled HVAC, plumbing, auto techincians, machinists and other skilled labor jobs.
Why is that Joe? Because you and your union buddies with their stagnant seniority system does not allow the younger, better trained employees get those jobs. They are given to the older guys who are very expensive to maintain as employees due to their guaranteed bloated salaries and very expensive health care packages.
Romney wins and the American companies come back to life. Most of them have less than 20 employees.
Obama and the unions win and American companies lose and when they lose the employees lose.
But you like it when the Democrats win Joe and those evil corporations fail. You guys would rather see a company go bankrupt than give up the fat, lazy, redundant jobs that you guys have negotiated over the last 60 years.
Union shop states are the problem. Look at them Joe. Everyone of them lags far behind in economic growth compared to right to work states.
Why are you so scared of competition? Worried you may lose.

he was a corporate raider.

Not the kind of guy Americans love right now

You guys are too funny. You believe every investment in a failing company is easy and results in employees getting large bonuses and guarantees for life.
Corporate raiders save companies where ALL of the jobs would have been lost.
Take a look at Staples and how they went from ONE STORE when Romney came in and grew to 2000 STORES.
How come we never hear you "he is a corporate raider" speak of the massive amount of jobs Romney CREATED?
Well, how about it?

They would look at the bottom line and determine which would make more quick money.

Fix or dismantle.

they would dismantle companies that could have been fixed because it meant more money in their pockets quick.

That is a corporate raider

No, what I worry about is someone breaking into my house at the middle of the night to steal my TV because he can't find a decent job. That is right after he votes for a Democrat to keep that welfare check coming.

We are not in good shape, and the decline of the American Middle Class has been a part of it. if you keep elimating those "bloated" union salaries to play bloated fat cats like Romney, you keep getting more government dependency. Which means more votes for Democrats.

I mean, sweet evil Jesus, man, I know you aren't capable of decency or fairness, but can you at least show some sense of self-preservation? Or maybe read a history book of what happens in societies where you only have the rich and the poor. (Hint. France, 1878, Russia, 1917, Cuba 1959, Iran 1979)

A strong middle class is a firewall between European socialism and social chaos. No, they don't expect to live in mansions, but they support the system when they have a little skin in the game.

Because those aren't the jobs we need.

We need MANUFACTURING jobs, not retail jobs.

Those Jobs at Staples don't pay health benefits or a decent salary. If it's not a college kid living at home working there, they really don't contribute much to the overall foundations of a capitalist economy.

Or to put it a way you'd understand. If that Staples Employee has to go get Food Stamps to put food on the table (40% of Food Stamp recipiants have jobs), Section 8 housing to put a roof over his head and MedicAid to see a doctor, he isn't going to want less government, he's going to want MORE government.

Which I think defeats your whole purpose.

The idea is to have more people pulling the wagon than riding in it. The Corporate raiders end up making more people ride in the wagon. Hense, the problem.

Why are you so dense you can't see the obvious.

Rubio would be my top choice for VP since he would ensure Florida goes to the GOP.

As long as they don't pick someone like Palin, a lightning rod and over their head on the national stage.

McCain screwed up big time with Palin and now she won't go away....

But here's the problem with that kind of thinking. Yes, Rubio might tip Florida into the R column. McDonnal Might tip VA into the Red Column.

Unfortunately, Romney only has one veep slot to give away and he kind of has to win both of those states, and right now, he's trailing in both. He also has to win in Ohio (where he's trailing) and picking up PA would be nice. (again, trailing badly.)

Obama has a lock on 227 electoral votes. He has to only get 43 more. Romney can only really count on about 192. He has to get 78 more.

Whatever.....your pick Ron Paul would lose in the worst result ever if he duped enough of the GOP.

Once Romney sheds his anklebiters in the GOP, he can focus his time and money towards Obamination and those disgruntled Democrats and independents that want change. Most of the GOP, well sane GOP will vote Romney in the national election.

Crazy people like you will write in Ron Paul wasting your vote and helping Obamination. You have no right-wing credibility admitting you will help Obamination....

at least Romney has plenty of great candidates to choose from, but he and McDonnell are pretty good buddies,,if u google Romney/McDonnell 2012,,,there are plenty of pages to look over.

As already correctly noted: you’re entitled to your delusions.

yeah cause biden is such a great choice right? stupid asswipe.

Um, that was 2008 and from the results, it was the right choice. McCain's, however, was a disaster....("You can see Russia from my house!" "I wanna' meet the president of Africa!" "What's the Fed?")

Google McCain's concession speech and watch the player's onstage. The McCains acted like the Palins were carrying the plague. It's hilarious. LMAO!

I like that analogy Joe but not preparing one's self for what the market demands IS NOT MY PROBLEM.
Decency is when I do not force my labor demands on employers. Fairness is when I train and educate MYSELF for what the market demands, not what I demand.
Social chaos is when we have a labor force that refuses to train themselves for the available jobs in the marketplace. There are millions of them now and these widget "manufacturers" that are unemployed from their job a high school grad could do for $10 an hour need to come into the information age from the stone age.
No one is guaranteed or has a right to a job.

Why not? Why is this such an awful concept?

FDR made it part of his last inagural, that every American should have the right to a job.

I don't like what the Democrats stand for, which is the notion that we should just pay people for being around, and subsidize their worst behavior.

But the Republican notion of making us all fight for the crumbs for the amusement of the very rich is equally wrong and immoral.

Everyone should be required to work for his keep. But they should be given the oppurtunity, and when they work, they should be treated fairly. Unions are far from perfect, but they are better than the alternatives I've seen, which is good people fired to make room for idiot relatives, or good people fired because the insurance company said they ran up too many medical bills.

The Market is a useful enough tool, but it should never be our master.. The problem is we've done exactly that, and we've gotten horrible results.

Are you some kind of high Grade retard? I didn't even talk about Ron Paul.

Once Romney sheds the ankle-biters in the GOP, Obama will squash him like the Mormon cockroach he is. And it will be funny to watch.

(I would like to apologize to any members of the Order Blattodea for being compared to Mormons.)

Romney may not be most GOP's/Conservatives choice, but then again, we have to look at it as choosing the lesser of both evils and whether you want to see our nation become Greece by 2016.
Rasmussem should take some Romney/VP polls to see if the gap is better with either ticket.
Bob McDonnell as VP will give Romney the crucial states of Virginia and North Carolina, aside from the rust belt.
If not Rubio (unless he is bluffing about not wanting the VP spot) McDonnell is next in line.
Us conservatives can only pray for a Romney/McDonnell ticket !! (well, at least I do)
:clap2::mm:

Take McDonnell. Please.

So you're either giddy or you have to settle?

I don't try to vote on my emotions.
