In a closed-door meeting Thursday, Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., told GOP colleagues he might resign as speaker pro tempore if Republicans push him to try to move legislation on the floor without an explicit vote to expand his powers, according to multiple lawmakers in the room.

If Jordan was speaker, we would see what he does. That was the comment. Republican voters are more to the right than their legislators in D.C. Most of them are fronted by the elites. It is tough to win without a lot of money backing you. From 2010 alone with the tea party, a total of 7 election cycles. Candidates were destroyed. The movement was infected. What we saw with Obama was that the nation had much of the legislation in place to turn us into an authoritarian state fronted to us all and not hidden.
