There was a nice old B&W movie called 'Mr. Chips' that might explain how a person can be a 'parent' without children in their household.

My BIL, the son's GODfather, is much like that. We were only too happy that our son really wanted to attend college at the university where his uncle taught: it gave them both a chance to enjoy bonding with one another : ))

Nobody has been talking about 'denying' anyone anything. I think there are basic human rights - and those come with responsibilities. If someone wants to have six children, they should - and they should NOT turn to the rest of us and whine that they need money for shoes, etc..... A child is totally dependent on its parents, and suffers greatly if those parents cannot provide adequately for its needs.

It's no more a 'basic human right' to create children one can't supply with the minimum of love and food and other support, than it is to 'charge it' into tens of thousands of credit card debt and then declare bankruptcy.

Getting the gift of life is of higher value then getting a pair of nice shoes. A child Born of poor parents who couldnt afford shoes, can become a billionaire.
