If Ted Cruz Was Born in Canada, He Cannot Be President: PERIOD

If it's true that Cruz was born in Canada, then he can't be President.

  • Yes, that's what the Constitution says.

  • No, we can make yet another exception to US Law and it won't set a dangerous precedent.

His mother was a born american. His father became a US citizen in 2005. Father was born in Cuba and became a Canadian after he left Cuba.

So if his father was born American and his mother became a US Citizen in 2005 (long after he was born and raised in her country) and his mother was born of, had him in and raised him in his formative years in, say, in Iran or Syria or N. Korea or China or Russia, then he could be US President?

If he's a citizen at birth, he's natural born. And thus eligible to be president. As there is only natural born (citizen at birth) and naturalized (citizen after birth).

Unless he's Puerto Rican. Silly, but true.

And Cruz was a US citizen at birth. And not Puerto Rican. Meaning he's eligible.

If a person is born an American citizen, then at birth he or she is a natural born citizen.

The person would then need to be 35 years old or older- and have lived in the United States to be eligible to be President.

And then convince the majority of American voters to vote for him or her- so that the Electoral College elects him or her.

Then he or she could be President.

With the bizarre exception of Puerto Ricans. Congress has explicitly designated them 'naturalized at birth'. Just Puerto Ricans. And no, I have no idea why.

It was never understood by anyone but Birthers, and then only when Barack Obama had the gall to run for President.
Bullshit. Obama's Mom was underage and so he had to be born in Hawaii, and the documentation on that was iffy, and Dhimmicrats loved to use it to aggravate conservatives that could think for themselves.

One thing was proven; the GOP cannot vet their opposition worth a damn.

No, his mother could be a US citizen, have a baby in Iran and raise him there in his formative years, then that baby would be eligible for US Presidency. This isn't more "Trump Stupid". I hate Donald Trump. This is US Law. We want the next conservative leadership to not be impeachable by the left. A president must be born on US soil or outposts. Ted Cruz was not. He could have been born in Iran with an American mom. Or in Russia. Or Red China. You do not want to allow such a precedent to be set to destroy the Constitution.
You poor fool. There won't be a next con president.

And by 'iffy', you mean explictly affirmed by the State of Hawaii no less than 4 times?

Birthers asking questions wasn't their blunder. It was ignoring the answers.

As long as he meets the definition of "natural born citizen", absolutely.

Well you did correctly label your post as 'Bullshit'.

One thing was proven- Birthers are idiots- and you are a good example.

Ted Cruz was born as a citizen of the USA. Period.

He did not have to get a passport and immigrate here.

This has been reviewed ad nauseum. If he had been born in Canada to a mother who was not a citizen it would be different.

Even if the moonbat messiah had been born in Kenya, he would still be a citizen. I loathe the air that meat muppet queer steals from us, but the arguement is moot. His birth is only shady because he was Frank Marshal Davis' bastard son, not the son of a Kenya exchange student.

The Constitution states 'parents,' plural. Such as, George Romney, John McCain, and Barry Goldwater, all born outside of the United States to American parents.

On the Meaning of “Natural Born Citizen”

[SNIP]There are plenty of serious issues to debate in the upcoming presidential election cycle. The less time spent dealing with specious objections to candidate eligibility, the better. Fortunately, the Constitution is refreshingly clear on these eligibility issues. To serve, an individual must be at least thirty-five years old and a “natural born Citizen.” Thirty-four and a half is not enough and, for better or worse, a naturalized citizen cannot serve. But as Congress has recognized since the Founding, a person born abroad to a U.S. citizen parent is generally a U.S. citizen from birth with no need for naturalization. And the phrase “natural born Citizen” in the Constitution encompasses all such citizens from birth. Thus, an individual born to a U.S. citizen parent — whether in California or Canada or the Canal Zone — is a U.S. citizen from birth and is fully eligible to serve as President if the people so choose.[/SNIP]

Really? Because I just did a check, and the word 'parents' doesn't appear anywhere in the constitution.
