I was wrong about the 2nd Amendment

As she said, the Department of Homeland Security designates the AR15 as a "personal defense weapon" or PDW

A PDW is typically a SBR (short barrel rifle) with a collapsible stock and modified buffer spring. Very easy to handle and useful for a number of self defense situations. Leftists will shout "but it's scary looking!!"

That's actually an AR 15 pistol with an arm brace.

No, that's not a brace, it's a collapsible stock by Battle Arms Development (Troy Industries also makes one). This makes it a short barrel rifle under the stamp act, whereas a brace on an AR15 pistol is not a SBR for tax stamp purposes. These are actually called PDW stocks.

Looks just like an arm brace

I assure you it's not. A brace is fixed. A PDW stock is extendable and requires a modified buffer spring. Here's a good article about them.

And you know damn well that if you shoulder an AR pistol with that thing attached without a Form 1, you're committing a felony. Let's not conflate apples and oranges here. The ATF exception for stabilizing braces is not the same thing as a collapsible stock on a tax-stamped SBR. The reason for the strap attached to a stabilizer brace is to strap it to your forearm for arm-extended pistol shooting.

Nope.

Incidental, sporadic, or situational use of an AR-15 pistol’s unmodified arm brace as a shoulder stock doesn’t constitute the weapon in question being “redesigned” (and thus legally reclassified) as a short-barreled rifle or NFA item. Basically, shouldering a pistol brace “sometimes” isn’t illegal.
