Over in Socialism Central, The Netherlands, when you're around 15 you have to take a test. If you're stupid you don't get to go to the upper level of public education. You get to learn how to be a janitor, trash collector, delivery person, and of course, my favorite, gofer.

Placement based on aptitude makes sense, though. I would have done better in a system more like that more so than our free for all education. Instead I failed a lot digging through the shit of lack of motivation and purpose before i came out in a good place. A person like Cortez would end up passing. Since we're obviously not going to do that, it might be smarter to objectively analyze what her popularity means in a macro context, and what that might portend for the future.
