    You know

The chastity belt aids in abstinence and also a contraceptive device.

Is the church against the chastity belt? It does present a paradox, does it not?

By the way, I doubt "trust in the church's hierarchy" is a major concern with its members, especially since few of them actually believe that these men are infallible. That is a concpt that the church wish to promote, but a little thinking would indicate they should not and admit human error for the sake of longevity.
