How the US Shattered the Middle East (and Why)

How the U.S. Shattered the Middle East

"Maj. Danny Sjursen is a retired U.S. Army officer and former history instructor at West Point. He served tours with reconnaissance units in Iraq and Afghanistan..."

The major believes War is a Racket

"Let us take an ever-so-brief tour of Washington’s two-decade history of utterly rupturing Greater Mideast nation-states and splintering an already fractious region. Here goes, from West to East, in an admittedly noncomprehensive list.

"U.S. airstrikes and regime change policy in Libya has unleashed an ongoing civil war, divided the country between at least two warlords, and enabled arms and militiamen to cross the southern border and destabilize West Africa.

"Which means that Niger, Libya, Cameroon, Mali, Chad and Nigeria have seen their shared territory around Lake Chad become a disputed region, contested by a newly empowered array of Islamists.

"That, of course, led the U.S. military to plop a few thousand troops in these countries.

"That deployment is unlikely to end well."

However, that may well depend on your definition of the word "well."

"The whole absurd mess boils down to a treacherous math problem of sorts.

"By my simple accounting, a region from Nigeria to Afghanistan that once counted about 22 state entities has—since the onset of the U.S. 'terror wars'—broken into some 37 autonomous, sometimes hardly governed, zones.

"According to the 'experts,' that should mean total disaster and increased danger to the homeland.

"Yet it’s largely U.S. military policy and intervention itself that’s caused this fracture.

"So isn’t it high time to quit the American combat missions?

"Not according to the mainstream policymakers and pundits.

"For them, the war must (always) go on!

Counterproductivity seems the essence of U.S. military policy in Uncle Sam’s never-ending, post-9/11 wars.

"Call me crazy, or wildly conspiratorial, but after serving in two hopelessly absurd wars and studying the full scope of American military action, it seems that maybe that was the idea all along.
Trump killed Qaddafi?

Wow.

Is this like when the "Parties switched sides"?

No, it was likely Hillary who was responsible for murdering Qaddafi, and it was about the single stupidest thing the US ever did.

A brainwashed fool's laughter counts for little

Who Are the Real Terrorists in the Middle East?

"I got to thinking about Americans’ peculiar definitions of terrorism recently when President Trump took an unprecedented step and designated a military unit of a sovereign nation—the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC)—as a foreign terrorist organization.

"In another bit of (to me, comical) theater, Iran quickly responded by labeling U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM)—the headquarters commanding all U.S. troops in the Greater Middle East—as terrorist. One can’t help but wonder if Iran has a point! Either way, it seems that a comparison of the two military commands is in order."

as always which is a simple as pie thing to do,agent correl gets his ass handed to him on a platter and can only sling shit in defeat as always,LOL

What typical drivel from a liberal peacenik.

War is good for America. Defense spending increases which is good for the economy and good for the workers in that industry. We get to test our new weapons systems in real war situation. It's a win-win for everybody. And when we bomb a third world country, other third world countries take note that they shouldn't mess with America.

a poster from Langley same as correl that has penetrated this site.LOL

Are you unfamiliar with the "safe havens myth"?

How the U.S. Shattered the Middle East

"What makes the situation in the Arabian Peninsula’s south particularly disturbing is that supposed foreign policy 'experts' in D.C. have long been hysterically asserting that the top risk to America’s safety are Islamist-occupied 'safe havens' or ungoverned spaces.

"I’m far from convinced that the safe-haven myth carries much water; after all, the 9/11 attacks were planned in Germany and the U.S. as much as in, supposedly, the caves of Afghanistan."

If the top risk to US security stems from "safe havens" in the Middle East, why is the US military creating more of them?

How many new wars has President Trump started?

Zero.

Funny how you hate the President that doesn’t get entangled in ME affairs, but you kiss the ass of the Hussein who fucked up the ME worse than Bush did.
How many new wars has President Trump started?
How many Muslim civilians have Trump's drones killed?
More than Barry's?
Yes.

which was bad enough as it was under barry since there were 3 times as many under barry than under bush.

Not to worry...

We're most of the way to Eretz Yisrael, already...

1922-mandate_for_palestine-300x210.jpg

But it ends at the limits of the 1922 vision...

Muslim-Arabs already have their slice of the former Roman and Turkish province of Palestine...

Their slice is called "Jordan"...

As (what little is left of) the West Bank and Gaza continue to shrink, it won't be long now, until the old League of Nations partition plan of 1922 becomes reality.

The Arabs have shot themselves in the foot time and again and again...

The Palestinian-Arabs should have come to terms with Israel while they still could; until the 1967-1973 time frame...

But... given that the Muslims attacked (or were mustering on the borders to attack) Israel three times... 1948... 1967... 1973...

Well... three strikes and you're out...

If there was a snowball's chance in hell that a deal could still be pulled off, the idiot Palestinians' Intifadas 1 and 2 finished that off...

"The Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity." - accepted nowadays as a truism.

Now, there's nothing more to do but sit back and watch Israel complete its finalizing of the 1922 partition...

Oh, and, by the way, America did not lend substantive support to Israel until after the 1967 War, and that was largely to offset Soviet supply of the Arabs...

But it was the Israelis themselves who kicked Muslim-Arab ass time and again, held back only by the prospect of American disapproval and a drying-up of supplies...

America didn't tear-apart the Middle East...

Those Arab camel- and goat-buggerers managed most of that on their own...

It's just more convenient to blame America than it is to look long and hard and honestly in the mirror for the true cause of their problems.

Liar.
The League of Nations NEVER had any intentions of there ever being a Jewish nation in the Mideast.
It would have been illegal, since the Treaty of Sevres had already established the British Mandate for an Arab Moslem Palestine to be independent.
Jews themselves insisted they never wanted any role in the government or sovereignty in the Mideast.
Read the Churchill Whitepaper of 1922 that explains the British position.
The Avalon Project : British White Paper of June 1922
{...
The tension which has prevailed from time to time in Palestine is mainly due to apprehensions, which are entertained both by sections of the Arab and by sections of the Jewish population. These apprehensions, so far as the Arabs are concerned are partly based upon exaggerated interpretations of the meaning of the [Balfour] Declaration favouring the establishment of a Jewish National Home in Palestine, made on behalf of His Majesty's Government on 2nd November, 1917.

Unauthorized statements have been made to the effect that the purpose in view is to create a wholly Jewish Palestine. Phrases have been used such as that Palestine is to become "as Jewish as England is English." His Majesty's Government regard any such expectation as impracticable and have no such aim in view. Nor have they at any time contemplated, as appears to be feared by the Arab deegation, the disappearance or the subordination of the Arabic population, language, or culture in Palestine. They would draw attention to the fact that the terms of the Declaration referred to do not contemplate that Palestine as a whole should be converted into a Jewish National Home, but that such a Home should be founded `in Palestine.' In this connection it has been observed with satisfaction that at a meeting of the Zionist Congress, the supreme governing body of the Zionist Organization, held at Carlsbad in September, 1921, a resolution was passed expressing as the official statement of Zionist aims "the determination of the Jewish people to live with the Arab people on terms of unity and mutual respect, and together with them to make the common home into a flourishing community, the upbuilding of which may assure to each of its peoples an undisturbed national development."

It is also necessary to point out that the Zionist Commission in Palestine, now termed the Palestine Zionist Executive, has not desired to possess, and does not possess, any share in the general administration of the country. Nor does the special position assigned to the Zionist Organization in Article IV of the Draft Mandate for Palestine imply any such functions. That special position relates to the measures to be taken in Palestine affecting the Jewish population, and contemplates that the organization may assist in the general development of the country, but does not entitle it to share in any degree in its government.

Further, it is contemplated that the status of all citizens of Palestine in the eyes of the law shall be Palestinian, and it has never been intended that they, or any section of them, should possess any other juridical status. So far as the Jewish population of Palestine are concerned it appears that some among them are apprehensive that His Majesty's Government may depart from the policy embodied in the Declaration of 1917. It is necessary, therefore, once more to affirm that these fears are unfounded, and that that Declaration, re affirmed by the Conference of the Principle Allied Powers at San Remo and again in the Treaty of Sevres, is not susceptible of change.
...}

And the Arab NEVER started any of the wars with Israel.
The 1948 war was started by Israeli forces massacring Arab villages, like Dier Yassin. It is well documented, and no one can deny it.
And Israel admits it started the 1967 war with a sneak attack that totally destroyed the Egyptian air force on the ground.

Israel would not exist at all if not for Truman creating the UN, just so that there could be an excuse to make Israel sound legal. But it still is not. The Treaty of Sevres still have priority.

So you are lying. The US totally tore up the Mideast, and Israel uses free US weapons almost exclusively.
We even gave Israel all the heavy water they used to make their nuclear weapons.

Liar.
No Hassidic Jew would ever join the IDF and fight for Israel because Zionism is a sin until Jews atone for past abuses of native in the Land of Canaan.
All Hassidic Jews are against Zionism.
There has always signs like this because all real Jews know that it is wrong for Europeans to invade Palestine and take over.
There has always been a Palestine, but it is a region and was not a nation until the Treaty of Sevres in 1920.
The Palestinians are the Canaanites, Chaldeans, Amorites, Philistine, Phoenicians, Nabatians, Urites, etc., who have history there going back over 8000 years.
In contrast, Israel is just a bunch of illegal European immigrants who used US weapons to take over by murder and theft.

There are many Jewish organizations against Israel because of Israel being immoral and against Jewish beliefs.

Foolish question if you knew anything about the Mideast.
In 1948, Israel was given all the latest weapons of war left over from WWII, such as B-17 bomber, P-51 Mustang fighters, M-4 Sherman tanks, etc.
The British had always prevented the Arabs from having arms, so they only had relics from WWI.
The Mideast countries with all the oil money and ability to buy weapons, like Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, etc., never were involved in any war. It was just Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan, the poorest Mideast countries, and the countries that only recently gained independence themselves, so had no weapons.
And we give Israel over $5 billion a year in the latest weapons, so there is no way any of the poor neighbors to Palestine can ever hope to take on the invading aggressor.
Ya, there’s not enough Arab oil to equip them.

I think you miss the point.
The US and other colonial powers like the UK, are not about to let any of the Arab nations with oil have any real sovereignty.
That is why you are not going to see nations like Saudi Arabia ever get involved in any conflict that is counter to US policy.
The US controls Saudi Arabia and all oil nations. If the US has to, it will just invade, like we did to Saddam.
It is not like there was any legal rational for the invasion. It was clearly over oil and Saddam being anti Israel.

but hey, if you want to attach some moral high ground to yet another theocracy cloaked in the guise of political stripe wearing white hats, go for it

such popular delusion fuels profit

Georgie wants to complete the mission of the Holocaust and kill us all. He is just too chicken to come out and state as such.
Have you ever asked yourself why evangelicals want Israel to prevail ? And what will happen to the Jews when the messiah comes back if they dont convert ?
Also please tell US what the jews think of jesus or Christianity?
Nope and I have zero interest in having a religious discussion with a devout Muslim extremist.
Lol you are worried of exposing yourself and your friends intentions?

Nope. No need to make up your own make believe reasons. I told your jihadi ass exactly why.
Ok mr Zion

Say hi.

There's only one solution to healing a fractured Middle East, and it starts in Palestine.
Single-State.jpg

Israel-Palestine

"The one-state solution, sometimes also called a bi-national state, is a proposed approach to resolving the Israeli–Palestinian conflict.[1]

"Proponents of a unified Israel advocate a single state in Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip,[1][2] with citizenship and equal rights in the combined entity for all inhabitants of all three territories, without regard to ethnicity or religion."
