How can libs/far left ridicule creationists

Biden is a traitor to his religion.

And a patriot to his country...

Hey, fact is Catholics have just as many abortions as anyone else. They use birth control just like everhyone else.

They treat the Pope like a senile old uncle who shows up at family gatherings and rants.

not when i was a kid.....i was told in Catechism class he is the closest person to "God" on the planet and has his ear....and the older people around me talked about the guy that way too.......so i dont know what Catholics you were talking too......

Flat Earth Society - libs that deny life begins at conception

Actually, life began 4 billion years ago and is a continuing process.

Which has nothing to do with whether or not the government can or should tell women to carry pregnancies they don't want to term.

I'm not a fan of abortion, but I'm a pragmatist. Women aer going to have abortions no matter what the law is.

In the Phillippines, abortion is illegal, but it is estimated that 500-800K abortions are performed every year.

You want less abortions, support sex education, support birth control, support medical and family leave- paid, support universal health coverage.

That will reduce the number of abortions.

Not getting all high and mighty about it, because women who thump the bible are just as likely to abort as those who don't.

Funny you should say that. I've known three women in my life who have had abortions. Each of them a dyed-in-the-wool Bible thumper.

Yeah! You ought to be proud that your parents felt the need to indoctrinate you as a kid!

Because they are EVIL! from the PITSof HELL!

--------------

I don't believe in creation but I don't MOCK it.

I also don't go around claiming that creation is EVIL! from the PITS of HELL!

and I don't hold a powerful congressional position from which I can help create laws BANNING creationism

MOST of the MOCKING I see on the internet comes from CONSERVATIVES who MOCK EVOLUTION

generally, after some conservative MOCKS and RIDICULES evolution you will find some sane and rational people fighting back

but the first volley is usually from cons

this is true.....but there have been many Liberals here who have mocked Creationism as well.....

Creationism, in its current format, simply isn't logical or reasonable enough for me to take it seriously. Too many gaps, too many unexplained questions....it's too.....morality-driven which in short makes it entirely too human of a concept to explain something so natural as the birth of this planet and its inhabitants.

It's just another origin story in a long line of them for many different cultures. The Greeks have one, the Chinese, the Japanese, The American Indian, The Hindus, the Persians, Indigenous peoples of Africa and Australia, the Mayans, Aztecs, Incans and other tribes of Central/South America had them as well. For every culture that has ever walked this planet, they had some version of how they believe the world came to be. Christianity and the creationist movement it spawned is absolutely no different, only better funded, better supported, and far more durable due to Christanity's popularity. Take that away and it holds no more credence then the world springing out of chaos as the Greeks contend.

So while I'm not ridiculing (or at least I don't intend to) Creationism, I simply can't find concrete, logical reasons to support it. When I come across exactly that, I would be quite fine with revisiting my stance on it.

I feel silly. I took you for a thumper there for a minute. My bad. My story is very similar to yours. Except my father didn't go with us to church. He found that the bar down the street was a better place to contribute funds ona given Sunday.

just because of what i said to Joe?.....no not me....i am probably considered an Agnostic....i watch the show" Ancient Aliens" to much i guess.....

denial of valid facts....creationists

life at conception.....read atwoods book.....a handmaiden's tale.....

Yet Joe Biden believes that life begins at conception...hmmmmmm

So? Can you not still be willing to let others have the choice of having an abortion? What's the problem?

Killing kids....not my thing...IF you believe life begins at conception (I do and think it's not even that close), then you believe they are killing people.......

What I find funny is that there are those out there who go out of their way to mock and ridicule Religion, Christianity and Christians, make fun and just downright be nasty. Saying things like, "How can you believe in some fairy tale in the sky?", you know what I'm talking about.

Then, they turn around and believe in the Paranormal, ghosts and aliens. They've never seen a ghost, never laid their eyes on a UFO. They take the word of some guy who had a dream about being abducted and said it actually happened. They take it on faith that these things happen.

It's funny as hell.

Does that represent a significant percentage of the population?

I think that most UFO stories are bullshit, too. Especially when people see things that directly match what Hollywood shows in Sci-Fi films.

But the notion of life on other planets is hardly incredible. There are billions of other stars, with trillions of planets around them. That life might have evolved on some of them isn't a far-fetched notion.

The notion that there is an eternal, omnipotent, omniscient being who is really concerned if you eat meat on Fridays during Lent or cares what church you go to or is really upset if you're masturbating, is just plain silly.

If such a being existed, he'd be above such things by his very definition. And the idea that of 7 billion humans, he'd decide he was going to talk to Ratzinger or Monson is just kind of dumb.

The reason that anyone can deny creationism is that they do not believe there is anything greater in the Universe then themselves. They are the be all of all things. The decider of what is right and what is wrong the creator of life, or at least the decider on what life lives.

Biden does what he does because he just does not care. He pretends to be a Catholic, supposedly, because of convenience, because it makes him feel good. He is not a Catholic. Unless one holds that belonging to a group does not mean that a person needs to believe what the groups SAYS they believe. To that end the RCC is nothing but money grabbing hypocrites that will be judged, in my opinion, far worse then abortionists like Biden and Pelosi ever will be judged. If the RCC had an ounce of integrity they would purge themselves of those who say they believe life begins at conception yet supports the killing of such life. I think if the RCC did they would grow, but they do not thus their numbers are falling. No one should wish to be associated with a group that will not uphold its own standards.

Back to the original question. The liberal, or atheists, have to deny a higher being something greater then themselves. If they did not then their support of "choice" would put them into the league of some of the most sinister people ever to walk the Earth. They are not like that so they have to invent excuses to have them believe in duality. So they say things like, you can't force your religion on me and they will say that life starts with the first breath. A duality of convenience. Of course those who believe in life starting at conception are really not a whole lot better if they say nothing. Kinda of like the Germans seeing the death camps and wring their hands saying that the Nazis should be doing that but not doing a damn thing about it. Kinda like when people openly held slaves. Do you think that those people believed that slavery was OK? If so what do you think would be the reaction of the slave owner if his daughter was abducted and sold into slavery? No they convinced themselves that the black man was inferior, cattle if you will, thus they were the slave master's property not a person. Duality for sure and until that thought was changed, that all men are indeed created equally, racism and slavery continued.

So be it with creationism. The liberal left and atheist do not have an explanation of how the complexity of life started here on Earth yet they reject even the idea that life may have been STARTED on Earth and not just a product of such random chance that if this were a Vegas casino no one would ever win with such odds. They deny the creation account, held by many religions, by taking the accounts with absolute literalism. Yet strangely their argument against almost always includes that creationist are wrong because they take the accounts literally. They point out the smallest of apparent error in a book that is thousands of years old as proof of it not being accurate. Yet they have no proof it is not other then claiming evolution proves the creation story incorrect. Which, if anyone is actually paying attention, evolution theory does not explain the origin of life.

So as one person posted they deny creationism with the ease of a closed mind.
