At my ex-hospital, we had access to a British site that included a section on herbal and complementary medicine. Each entry included data regarding the research and trials (garlic was most impressive lol). I'd sit and read it for hours.
I can't seem to find it online now (can't recall the exact name) but it might be what's referred to here: British Pharmacopoeia 2009
As an aside, one of the most fascinating patients I ever had the honor to meet was an Indian medicine man; this was years ago, so I can't recall for what nation, but he was the top medicine man on the east coast. His knowledge of plant and herbal medicine was amazing.
