This years hurricane season has thus far been memorable for the fact that the hurricanes gain strength in the open ocean faster than has been the case. Then there was Harvey, running into exactly the kind of stalled weather front that Jennifer Francis predicted was possible in 2012. That, with the very warm ocean and atmosphere gave Houston it's third flood in three years. Looks like those are no longer 500 year floods.
