Waiting on the Cowardly Dante!!

Swing state polling data released last week showed Hillary Clinton faring worse against top Republicans in hypothetical general election match-ups than Joe Biden. Fox News' fresh national numbers confirm that effect. Though Mrs. Clinton's advantage among Democrats has surged back to a 20-point margin -- leading Bernie Sanders, followed by Joe Biden -- it appears she'd be a weaker nominee than the sitting Vice President.

Unless things change - which they probably will - I suspect Hillary will get the nomination and a lot of disappointed socialist types will stay home in the general election.

  • Christie’s support drops to 5%…in New Jersey. Trump surging!
    Hot Air ^ | October 15, 2015 | Jazz Shaw
Most of the focus on polling this week has revolved around Nevada and South Carolina, where The Donald has jumped out to leads which nearly equal the total of the rest of the field. But at the same time, the rest of the states are checking their own respective pulses, including the home turf for some of the other hopefuls. The news on the home front for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, as it turns out, is anything but sunny. The latest polling from Rutgers-Eagleton shows that the one state where you’d expect his support to remain at least somewhat...
  • A surprising number of Republicans think Donald Trump is their best hope in 2016
    MSN News ^ | October 15, 2015 | Chris Cillizza
The big headline out of new CNN/ORC polling in Nevada and South Carolina is that real estate magnate Donald Trump holds wide leads in each state. But more fascinating to me than those topline numbers is the large bloc of Republicans in those two states who see him as their most electable candidate in the 2016 general election. In Nevada, 47 percent of likely Republican caucus-goers said Trump "has the best chance of winning the general election next November." In South Carolina, that number is 44 percent. In both states, Ben Carson is a distant second to Trump on the...

Both are important early states and both have Trump way, way out in front per CNN’s latest. And do note, Trump fans: Both are polls of likely Republican voters, not just adults. The big rap on Trump from his critics to this point is that he’s doing gangbusters numbers among adults generally, who know him from “The Apprentice” and as that rich guy with his name on all the buildings, but that those adults tend not to vote in actual elections. CNN talked to actual voters in NV and SC and found them strongly pro-Trump — and committed to...
  • FOX Poll: Trump beats Clinton 45-40, eclipsing Bush
    Real Clear Politics Polls ^ | 10/15/2015 |

  • In the latest Fox poll, Trump defeats Hillary outside the margin of error, 45-40. He has moved ahead of Jeb Bush, who defeats Clinton 44-40 (MOE 3). In a previous PPP poll taken 10 days ago, Trump and Clinton were tied at 44, while Bush beat Clinton by one. Clinton beat Cruz by 4 and would lose to Carson by 4.

I attended a Donald Trump rally yesterday, October 3, in Franklin Tennessee. I’ve never seen attendance like it. I arrived an hour early and the line snaked around the building then back on itself around the building again – and the people kept coming and coming. They were mostly average working people, I estimate about a third were under 30. All were heartened by the crowd itself. Everyone I spoke to expressed renewed hope for America in this candidate. Eventually, the organizers stopped letting people in and we were all stranded out in the rain. The couple behind me had...

All those polls mean nothing. Only Carson beats Clinton beyond the margin of error; Clinton is in front of Trump and just behind Fiorina.
